Executive Summary

What is Hunger at Home?

Hunger at Home is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing food and meal
surplus to soup kitchens and other charities to help those in need. It acts as an
intermediary between businesses and non-profit communities to feed the homeless and
hungry individuals and families. The organization has donated over two million meals during
the past twenty months and the number of meals provided is continuing to grow. Hunger at
Home also hosts charity events to raise money for its charity partners, donates amenities,
and assists with job placement and equipment needs. Claradise Consulting plans to capture
these acts of kindness to help drive our project proposal.

How can Claradise Consulting help?

Claradise Consulting will provide Hunger at Home with a meaningful service through social
media marketing. We plan on coming up with intriguing and raw content that will attract the
attention of potential volunteers and sponsors for Hunger at Home. Social media is a key tool
in the marketing of a company because it can: keep customers updated and engaged, raise
awareness about the company, and promote the company’s mission. Hunger at Home has
had an impressive impact on our local community and Claradise Consulting would like to
shed light on the cause.

What is our plan?

Claradise Consulting plans to provide Hunger at Home with a better way to utilize its social
media platforms to gain more volunteers and increase awareness of the company. Currently,
Hunger at Home has numerous partnerships with a lot of major companies. Hunger at Home
is an organization that stands for admirable values, which has resulted in the support of
many companies. However, since Hunger at Home does not have much of a following, they
are missing the opportunities to partner with more organizations. With Claradise
Consulting’s help to upgrade Hunger at Home’s social media presence, prospective partners
will jump at the chance to work with Hunger at Home when they see the fantastic work that
the orhanization dedicates itself to.

Introduction to the Problem / Need

One Main Problem
In the state of California, one out of eight adults and one out of five children face food
insecurity (“Hunger). People are aware of different food banks, however, they aren’t
always aware of how those organizations get food and a majority of the time, they
don’t know how they can help. Here in the Silicon Valley, people have a vast amount of
resources that they are often willing to utilize for a cause they believe in. The problem is that
not many individuals know about the severity of food insecurity. In addition to being unaware
of this problem, people don’t know what Hunger at Home does.

One More Partnership
Hunger at Home is great at partnering with organizations to help the needy, however, its
partnership with Claradise Consulting will allow for an increase in awareness about food
insecurity in California. If more individuals knew about the statistics, they’d look into ways
they could reduce food waste, how they can get involved, and/or get their employer to
become a partner of Hunger at Home.

One Major Solution
From our perspective, Hunger at Home has been very successful in regards to how many
meals it has provided. The only thing that it lacks is attention from society. A social media
campaign will not only raise awareness about the organization and about people facing food
insecurity, but it will foster more volunteerism from the general community. Instead of
making this cause about the big organization, the cause is about the individuals - the
individuals who are suffering and the individuals who can help alleviate their suffering.

Project Rationale

Increasing Social Media Effectiveness
For all the noble work Hunger at Home has been doing, it doesn’t get enough attention
on social media platforms. At the moment, it has 150 followers on Twitter, 45 on
LinkedIn, 621 on Facebook and 109 on Instagram. In order to increase awareness and
gain more volunteers

Hunger at Home needs a strong presence on social media. In the long run, the more people
know about Hunger at Home, the easier it will be to partner with companies.

The social media change will include three different parts. First, we will gather/take pictures
from the organizations where the food is delivered. People will be drawn to pay more
attention to Hunger at Home if they see who Hunger at Home partners with, what is
provided, how the nonprofit impacts the underprivileged. Second, we will gather quotes from
the people that are fed by the meals provided by Hunger at Home. These testimonials will
further get people’s attention. Lastly, we will put together a pamphlet that viewers can
reference to in order to get all the information they need about Hunger at Home (i.e.,
partnerships, meals provided, mission statement, how they can join and contact
information).

Challenges & Solutions
It might be difficult attracting followers at first, but that is only because they may not be
aware of the problems Hunger at Home is determined to solve. Through our project, we will
create material that will show the harsh facts of hunger in the Silicon Valley. We understand
the impact a message can have if seen on different platforms, therefore we want all of
Hunger at Home’s accounts to be consistent, appealing and informative. Once more people
are aware of the problem, they will be drawn to be part of the movement.

Confirmation
All the members of Claradise Consulting have expertise in social media therefore they will be
the best to assist with this problem. They are the best in how to grab people’s attention by
knowing what to post, how to make it appealing, and how to be the most effective in
informing others. During the course of this agreement, we would generate material to post
on the different platforms and would leave Hunger at Home with more attention than they
had.

Deliverables

Social Media Marketing Campaign

The importance of digital media in many aspects of society cannot be understated.
Individuals use it for fun, work, personal fulfilment, development, and communication
with others. Organizations use digital media for exposure, awareness, outreach, and
communication with consumers. Due to this, we believe that one of the best ways to assist
Hunger at Home with their goals to decrease food insecurity is to organize and manage a
social media market campaign under their brand.

Listed below is what we plan to achieve through our marketing campaign:

● Increase overall presence of Hunger at Home by increasing their LinkedIn
connections, Twitter followers, Instagram followers, and Facebook followers
● Spread Hunger at Home’s vision by actively engaging the social media community via
calls-to-action for personal and event participation
● Encourage co-involvement with Hunger through initiating and maintaining contact
with organizations interested in Hunger at Home’s cause, such as Martha’s Kitchen
● Educate the community about the prevalent issues of food insecurity by posting
relevant statistics and conducting interviews with a variety of individuals working to
fight homelessness and food insecurity

By achieving these deliverables, we will advance Hunger at Home’s connections to the local
community, broaden the organization’s overall awareness, and help reduce homelessness
and food insecurity by fostering active community participation. After our project scope with
Hunger at Home has been completed, we will provide them with a template for future digital
media use so that they can spread their brand and assist the community with no delays in
effectiveness.

Cost Analysis

A comprehensive social media marketing campaign will advance Hunger at Home’s
mission to help those whom are impoverished. In terms of costs, this project is
low-risk, high-reward as it will cost Hunger at Home $0 to employ Claradise
Consulting’s services throughout the entirety of the deal. Coupled with little to no costs,
this project would not affect the Hunger at Home team’s schedule as it will be run solely by
the Claradise Consulting Group in unison with Ewell Sterner, the founder and CEO of Hunger
at Home. With no upfront costs and minimal labor hours, this project represents very little
risk with high upside for the non-profit.

Liabilities (categories)

One benefit the proliferation of Hunger at Home’s social media presence offers is an increase
in incoming revenue through streams such as donations. Currently, Hunger at Home receives
nearly $75,000 in donations annually. As the media presence of Hunger at Homes grows,
there is potential for a subsequent increase in the amount of donations Hunger would
receive. With poverty rates increasing rapidly, Hunger at Home’s cause is one that will
resonate with the public. For each donation received, the amount of meals served will
experience growth as well.

To directly address the potential Return on Investment (ROI), Claradise Consulting Group
expects Hunger at Home to experience a very favorable return. With little to no costs, any
positive result from the project will transpire into returns. With $0 in direct costs and minimal
labor hours (indirect cost), this project represents very little risk for Hunger at Home with the
potential to exponentially increase outreach and productivity.

Success Metrics

Hunger at Home’s success lies in its ability to reach organizations across the Silicon
Valley due to their position as an intermediary, sitting between
companies/organizations and homeless shelters. The most effective method of
expanding the number of meals served to the less fortunate would be to proliferate the
amount of partnerships they hold. In order to increase outreach and evaluate the success of
this project for Hunger at Home, we will be focusing on three success metrics: social media
interactions, number of meals served, and amount of volunteers.

Social Media
Social media is quickly becoming one of the most valuable assets for organizations across
the world due to its massive user base. Currently, Hunger at Home has lacked a strong
presence on these online platforms with only 45 followers on LinkedIn, 108 followers on
Instagram, and 606 likes on Facebook. As experts with in-depth experience using social
media, Claradise Consulting believes there is potential for up to 5x growth in followers and
subscribers on all sites. Increasing social media presence by 5x will not only increase
publicity, but also help Hunger at Home expand the amount of partnerships they hold.

Meals Served
Hunger at Home has currently provided 2.7 million meals to those in need, rapidly scaling
their organization over the past few years. This statistic is impressive, but there is an
opportunity for the non-profit to hit 3 million meals by the end of 2019. At Claradise
Consulting, we believe Hunger at Home has the ability to continue and extrapolate its
remarkable growth in recent years.

Volunteerism
With an increased presence on social media and an uptick in meals served, we believe
Hunger at Home will be thriving. However, as an organization grows, there is a need for the
amount of personnel to grow as well in order to meet the increased demand. We believe that
we would be able to proliferate the amount of volunteers volunteering at Hunger at Home by
2x with an increased online presence, making it easier for individuals to view the cause and
discuss its implications.

WIth an advanced social media strategy implemented, we at Claradise Consulting believe
Hunger at Home will experience a subsequent rise in partnerships and outreach, therefore
leading to an increase in meals served and volunteers.
