Mrs. Clay’s Classroom Rules:

• Be Kind
• Show Respect for School and Personal Property
• Follow Directions and Listen to the Teacher
• Work Quietly
• Be Neat
• Be Safe!

Ms. Elrod’s Classroom Procedures:

• Place backpacks in your cubby when you arrive and unpack belongings
• Homework Folder (on the left is things to do, and on the right is things to turn in) … will
be sent home and turned in daily
• Quietly get and eat breakfast until everyone arrives
• Pencil System (pencil dispenser and dull pencil bucket for students who need a pencil)
• Classroom Responsibilities (weekly jobs assigned to each student including calendar
helper, line leader, supply manager, etc.)
• Word Wall (includes common words that are used and misspelled for students to refer
to instead of disrupting class time)
• Student Desk Supplies (there will be a cubby for each table that has common supplies
students may need like glue sticks, scissors, rulers, etc.)
• Morning Meeting (this is a safe time for students to share and do a fun class activity to
start the morning)
• Leaving the classroom (students will remain in line and remain quiet when traveling in
the halls, so they do not disrupt other people in the school)
• Restroom (students can cross fingers and show the teacher as a silent indicator that
they have to use the restroom)
• Cool-Down Table (this is a space used that students can sit if they are in trouble or if
they need a place to calm down away from their classmates to do their work)
• Raise Your Hand (students need to raise their hand before blurting out during lesson
time)

Mrs. Clay’s Homework Folder:
This procedure is used to send any homework or important information home with
students each day. On the left-hand side of the folder will be new information or homework.
When the homework is completed, or forms are filled out by parents, it will go back into the
right-hand side of the folder and sent back to school the next day.

Purpose/Reason for this Classroom Procedure:

• Purpose 1:
o Having a homework/take-home folder keep the students organized. It teaches
them to be responsible for the folder itself as well as getting the things inside of
the folder done and returned for the next day of class.
• Purpose 2:
o This folder serves as a direct line of contact between the teacher and parent as
to what the student is actively doing in school. The teacher can send home
important documents or forms to the parents when needed and it can be
returned by putting it on the completed side and sending it back to school.
• Purpose 3:
o This folder teaches the students responsibility and acts as a safe space for their
important work to stay and to be returned. This will improve class by students
developing the daily routine of the homework folder.
