A. RATIONALE
Reading is a complex developmental challenge that we know to be
intertwined with many other developmental accomplishments: attention,
memory, language, and motivation, for example. Reading is not only a cognitive
psycholinguistic activity but also a social activity.
OBJECTIVES
1. Read to activate and reinforce other skills (grammar, vocabulary,
pronunciation, and writing).
2. Reading to become a better reader.
3. Develop pupils love for reading.
B. PROGRAM OUTPUT
Story books, reading charts, printed reading materials, remedial reading
notebook
C. PROGRAM OUTCOME
While conducting the remedial reading instructions to our struggling
readers, we noticed that some of them showed improvements in their reading.

I. Introduction
In accordance with Deped Order No. 121, S 2014 , Reading month celebration
was also conducted in Jaguimitan Elementary School with this years theme “
Magbasa’t Umunlad”. It’s purpose is to promote Every Child a Reader Program
making every Filipino child a competent reader and writer appropriate for
his/her grade level.
II. Objectives:
1. To develop the ability to read.
2. To help the child to use reading as tool of learning.
3. To develop the desire to read as voluntary activity with the refinement
of taste in reading as an end.
4. Increase the level of motivation of pupils to engage in reading stories.
V. Suggestions/ Recommendations:
The teacher should have full application of strategies that will
improve pupils’ reading performance. The teacher should be creative and
resourceful enough to cater the needs of the learners. The parents also should help and assist
their child in reading at home.
