Wakie is a Considerate Community

On Wakie we get to interact with real people, have real conversations, and make real
connections. Through these connections we form a community, and as a community, we
must ensure that we always behave with kindness, consideration, and respect.

Wakie community is global, connecting a great number of diverse people from all over the
world. We believe in uniting people under the flag of humanity, no matter their nationality,
religion, race, or any other difference. We believe people can be respectful toward new,
different, and even opposing viewpoints. Whether agreeing or disagreeing, we encourage
our community members to be kind and considerate toward each other.

To help all people on Wakie interact in a harmonious and understanding manner, we have
community rules and moderation systems. Overall, our moderation model is based on
self-moderation; our system works so that individual members can organize their own
communities and get what they need from Wakie. We minimize penalties as much as
possible and focus on providing guidelines to help everyone treat each other with respect.
Nonetheless, Wakie will strictly enforce our community rules, as we want everyone to feel
comfortable, without fear of harassment. Please see below for our community rules and
expectations, as well as a guide to our moderation system.

Highly-Encouraged Behaviors
1. Be friendly and kind to all people on Wakie.
2. Create interesting topics. Be active in the discussion around your own topics,
engaging with people who comment. Keep in mind that the top value of Wakie is to
enable our users to find relevant conversation partners to satisfy their needs for
making profound conversations on a wide range of topics, so all meaningful topics
should not include off-topic comments, otherwise moderators will have to hide them.
3. Help other people get good responses to their topics. Invite people to conversations
where they can be contributive.
4. Report inappropriate content with ‘Report Violation’ button (see below for things that
may deem content inappropriate).

Community Expectations
1. Do not insult, abuse, or harass staff, moderators or other members, either directly or
indirectly. This includes, but is not limited to, offensive language, creating negative
topics about a specific member, expressing hate speech or aggression toward
groups, trolling, posting comments meant to embarrass the author of a topic,
demanding social media or personal information, exposing private info, including
personal chat screenshots, or impersonating other members.
2. Do not post any personal information, such as phone numbers, addresses, and
social media information. This prevents unwanted contact, harassment, and spam. At
the same time, meaningful mentions of social media links in topics are acceptable.
For example, a singer posting a soundcloud link to get feedback or Wakie official
accounts like Wakie Champ posting links to Wakie social media accounts are fine.
3. For new topics use only the language that belongs to current language feed (each
topic is posted in one specific language, you can choose necessary language in time
of topic creation) and for comments use only the language initiated by an author of a
single topic. If you want to use a different language, post a new topic. Violation of this
rule is regarded as disrespect to other community members and may lead to
temporary ban.
4. Don’t publish provocative posts that create arguments or a negative atmosphere.
5. Content that is threatening, incites violence self harm or suicide will not be tolerated.
6. Do not post anything that infringes on intellectual properties rights, or violates
copyright.
7. Exposing private info, including personal chat screenshots may lead to a permanent
ban.
8. Posting ads and spam in group chats, personal messages, or calls are not permitted.
This includes, but is not limited to, repeated posts or comments, advertising, posting
new topics as comments in ongoing threads, farming for social media followers, and
long posts meant to disrupt the feed.
9. Posting sexual or obscene content, or using Wakie to try to find sex partners are not
permitted.
10. Any suggestions of attempting to scam community members or app administration
may lead to a permanent ban.
11. Any form of extremism, terrorism, propaganda, or fascism are not permitted.
12. Nothing communicated within the community should take the place of a trained
professional. This app is for peer-to-peer entertainment and support app.
13. Topics advocating abuse or sexually acts with animals will not be tolerated.
14. Violation of the above rules in personal messages may lead to ban in chats, if a large
number of your interlocutors will find your messages not appropriate.
15. This app is intended only for users 13 years of age and older. If you are under 18,
you may use Wakie only with parental or guardian permission. No one under the age
of 13 is permitted to use the app, and will be removed on discovery.
16. Creating multiple accounts or shared accounts are not permitted.
17. Using emulators/simulators (programs which allow you to get access to mobile apps
on PC) or Clone apps (to set up multiple user accounts) are not permitted.
18. Posting any porn and nudity including shirtless men is against the Guidelines.

Additional situations not listed here may be deemed disruptive to the community. Those will
be determined by app administration on a case-by-case basis.

All the actions mentioned above relate to Wakie Clubs as well, however, there are a few
more additional rules:

1. Those public and secret clubs created to do harm to the community members and
administration are strictly prohibited. The leaders and admins of violating clubs will be
permanently banned.
2. Be respectful towards your conversation partners during a club call. Please do not
interrupt or use abusive and offensive expressions or kick a user out without any
reason or explanation.
3. Avoid using an abusive and offensive language in the content you post in a public
club. This aspect is directly linked to not only topics, but chats as well. Treat your
clubmates in a respectful manner.
4. When leaders of public clubs revoke memberships, they shall inform the community
members of the reasons for these actions. Please remember that you are a leader of
your club and a club creation is your own initiative that should be implemented within
the general guidelines.
5. Being an admin try to invite relevant members only. Please keep in mind that Wakie
Clubs are not all about the quantity, but relevant and meaningful discussions.

The following actions should be avoided, as they will likely lead people to block you:
1. Frequently creating romantic or lewd topics.
2. Frequently going off-topic within a post. Be respectful of topic authors and try to stay
on the subject of the discussion.
3. Posting random, meaningless, incoherent, or uninteresting topics and comments.
4. Sending intrusive, pushy personal messages.

According to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), our users can request support to
get their personal data on Wakie.

These guidelines are managed through our moderation system. The community is
self-policing, and you can report any piece of content, or any member for review.
Wakie staff is not able to review any content unless it is brought to our attention
using the reporting mechanisms. We reserve the right to freeze activity of
suspected community members for up to 7 days until clarification of
circumstances.
See more information on moderation here.
