Resumen El estudio de las bandas o anillos que se forman en procesos de precipitación periódica
conocidos como Fenómeno Liesegang, tiene una historia que se remonta a más de ciento
cincuenta años. A pesar de su interés científico, no posee aún una explicación totalmente
satisfactoria tanto desde un punto de vista físico–químico como geológico. Se hace
una aproximación sobre la naturaleza de este Fenómeno, con algunas orientaciones
experimentales; se describe asimismo una formación geológica de estas estructuras que
se encuentra en el término municipal de Vallehermoso, en La Gomera (Islas Canarias).
Abstract The study of the bands or rings that form in periodic precipitation processes known as
Liesegang Phenomenon has a history that goes back more than one hundred and fifty
years. In spite of its scientific interest, it still lacks a totally satisfactory explanation from
both a physico–chemical and geologic point of view. An approach with some experimental
directions on the nature of this Phenomenon has been done; a geologic outcrop of these
structures occurring in the municipal district of Vallehermoso in La Gomera (Canary
Islands) is also described
