Abstract
This project is about a swing, which is used by sea waves that produces electricity while being used. In its construction simple, the
swinging action of the swing makes the horizontal beam member turns through some angle and continues it’s to and fro motion
now in this motion is transferred to a link which transfers this angular motion into linear one as well as amplifies the same. This
amplified motion is then transmitted to a free wheel that using flexible links. The free wheel turns this linear reciprocating motion
in to circular one directional motion and transmits the same to flywheel. The flywheel is connected to a generator via a specific
transmission to increase the speed at generator end. The generator converts the mechanical energy into electrical and thus electricity
is produced. The swing generates electricity while being used only. The electricity that produced can be used for local use. The
electricity that produced is cost free and is economical friendlier. In this power generation system produce an AC form. This is
converted to DC and store the battery to further use. It can certainly lower down the load on main grid thus helping in saving
electricity. This swing electricity power generator is not only generates electricity but it can be also very useful tool to educate
children to learn to conserve energy. Along with this project uses that.

I. INTRODUCTION
Renewable energy techniques are now turn out to be a more and more consideration as the years look the other way, not only for
the reason that of the warning of environment variation but furthermore, e.g. due to severe pollution troubles in several countries
and because the renewable energy technologies have full-fledged and can be depended upon an greater than ever level. The energy
from ocean waves bares remarkable prospective as a source of renewable energy, and the associated technologies have persistently
been enhanced for the period of the most recent decades [1]. Wave power refers to the energy of ocean surface waves and the
capture of that energy to do helpful work. Sea waves are extremely hopeful energy delivery service among renewable power
sources, in view of the fact that they are capable to manifest a massive magnitude of energy resources in almost all geographical
regions [2]. Energy requirements of today’s world are on the rise day by day since the utilization of superior amount of electricity
owed to increasing population [3]. Sea wave energy is being progressively more in several countries as a most important and
promising resource [4]. Ocean waves are an enormous, for the most part available energy resource, and the potential for extracting
energy from waves is considerable. Follow a line of investigations in this area is driven by the need to meet up the renewable
energy targets, but is comparatively undeveloped compared to other renewable energy technologies [5]. Several wave energy
converters have been urbanized in the earlier period century by way of different power takeoff systems, together with those devices
with air turbines, linear electromagnetic motors, and hydroelectric components. Even though these systems have their own rewards,
power takeoffs are still acknowledged as for the most part essential dispute in ocean wave energy technology [6]. In this paper,
swing mechanism device is fabricated to produce the electrical power from the ocean waves in on shore of sea and also the electrical
power outputs for different swing angle also calculated.

II. DESIGN, COMPONENTS AND FABRICATION

A. Chain Drive
Chain drive is a way of transmitting mechanical power from one place to another place. It is often used to convey power to wheels
of a vehicle, particularly bicycles and motorcycles. The power is conveyed by a roller chain, known as the drive chain or
transmission chain, passing over a sprocket gear, with the teeth of the gear meshing with the holes in the links of the chain. By
varying the diameter of the input and output gears with respect to each other, the gear ratio can be altered. There is even very low
friction, as long as the chain is sufficiently lubricated. Continuous, clean, lubrication of roller chains is of primary importance for
efficient operation as well as correct tensioning. Here chain drive is used for transmitting the motion from sprocket to free wheel.
Here the motion from shaft axis of swing frame is transmitted to the low rpm generator coupled to the free wheel arrangement to
handle.

B. Sprocket
Sprocket is a profiled wheel with teeth that meshes with a chain. It is an intended material. The drive sprocket may be positioned
at the front or back of the vehicle. Sprockets never mesh together directly, from a pulley by not usually having a flange at each
side. It transmits rotary motion between two shafts where gears are unsuitable motion to a track. Here sprocket is coupled to the
shaft where the shaft produces torque during oscillation of swing. Hence, sprocket is used for transmitting the motion through
chain drive to the generator to produce power.

C. Dynamo
Dynamo is an electricity generator. This dynamo produces direct current with the help of a commutator. It was the first generator,
capable of power in industries. The dynamo uses rotating coils of wire and magnetic fields to convert mechanical rotation into a
pulsing direct electric current. A dynamo machine consists of a stationary structure, called the stator, which provides a constant
magnetic field, and a set of rotating windings called the armature which turn within that field. The commutator was needed to
produce direct current.

D. Bearings
Generally speaking, a bearing is a device that is used to enable rotational or linear movement, while reducing friction and handling
stress. Resembling wheels, bearings literally enable devices to roll, which reduces the friction between the surface of the bearing
and the surface it's rolling over.
 Bearing Type: Ball Bearing
 Ball Material: Chrome Steel
 Diameter: 40mm

E. Free Wheel
In mechanical engineering, a free wheel or over running clutch is a device in a transmission that disengages the driveshaft from
the driven shaft when the driven shaft rotates faster than the driveshaft. An overdrive is sometimes mistakenly called a free wheel,
but is otherwise unrelated.

F. Sprocket Assembly
Here the sprocket is placed on the shaft and it can be welded or coupled by a pin joint. But in this case it is welded to the shaft; so
as to impart the motion of the swing to the sprocket and then it is transferred to the smaller sprocket (free wheel) via a chain
coupled to it as shown in figure.2 (a).

G. Free Wheel and Gear Assembly

Here free wheel is mounted on a small shaft which is placed inside the ball bearing as shown in figure.2 (b). This free wheel is
welded on outer ring to avoid the free moment of free wheel and its convert into a smaller sprocket. The free wheel is used to
transmitting the rotary motion to the shaft on which a spur gear is mounted which in turn is connected to a dynamo.

H. Dynamo Assembly
It is an electrical generator. This dynamo produces direct current with the use of a commutator. The dynamo uses rotating coils of
wire and magnetic fields to convert mechanical rotation into a pulsing direct electric current. Here the dynamo is mounted on a
main swing frame and it is meshed externally to a spur gear by using a smaller spur gear. Dynamo produces direct current due to
the motion of the swing and this electricity is stored in the battery. The dynamo assembly is shown in figure.2(c).

I. Battery Assembly System

Battery assembly system as shown in figure.2 (d). It is used to store the power from generating the dynamo. In this stored power
is used to run the low power appliances.

III. WORKING PRINCIPLE

During the forward stroke & backward stroke of swing some torque is induced in shaft. The shaft is mounted between two bearings.
At one end of the shaft a large sprocket is attached rigidly, this sprocket pivots over shaft axis when the shaft is displaced. The
larger sprocket is attached to a smaller sprocket using chain. The shaft in which smaller sprocket is mounted is connected with the
spur gear arrangement. With this arrangement power is generated in the dynamo and stored in the battery. The fabricated model of
the swing mechanism device is shown in the figure.2 (e).

IV. RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

After the successful completion of the swing mechanism device we have placed this device on sea shore with the contact of the
sea water waves. The different swing angles were used to obtain the power output from the dynamo setup. The effect of different
swing angle for the power output from the swing mechanism device is shown in figure.3. It shows that the output power from the
swing mechanism is increased with respect to the increasing swing angle; this is because of larger contact of the swing plate with
the seawater. The maximum power output has achieved at a sing angle of 90 degree to 120 degree.

V. CONCLUSIONS
In this paper swing mechanism device was successfully fabricated to produce the electrical power from the sea waves in seashore.
In order to increase the output electrical power from this device, different swing angle also deployed in that device and the
corresponding power output is calculated. In future the extent of power generation can be increased by improving the design the
charging circuit or by controlling the flexibility of the swing it can be designed as weather proofing and also adopt different types
of safety measures.
