RULES
1. BE KIND

✺ You should treat others how they


would want to be treated
✺ Use kind words
✺ Be inclusive to all of your peers,
do not leave anyone out
✺ Respect school property
by not writing or
damaging desks, chairs,
walls, or any other aspect
of the classroom
✺ Be nice to Mrs. Clay’s
classroom belongings
✺ Be nice if using
something from another
student and try not to
damage it
2. SHOW RESPECT FOR SCHOOL
AND PERSONAL PROPERTY
3. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND
LISTEN TO THE TEACHER
✺You should always follow directions
given by the teacher
✺You need to listen to Mrs. Clay and any
other teacher in the school who is
looking after you
✺Work quietly when doing classwork
so we do not disrupt learning time
✺There should be no yelling in the
classroom
✺You may talk quietly with classmates
if instructed by Mrs. Clay

✺ Keep the classroom clean
by putting stuff away when
you are done using it
✺ Everything has a place that
it lives when it is not being
used
✺ Be sure to throw away any
trash in the trash can

that may harm you or
your peers
✺ No running, jumping,
or hitting in the
classroom
✺I want you all to have
fun in my class, but BE
SAFE in doing so

✺ When you come into
class, place your
backpack into your
cubby
✺ Be sure to take out your
lunch supplies and
homework folder for
class

CUBBY WHEN YOU ARRIVE
2. HOMEWORK
FOLDER
✺ Each day, homework,
notes, or forms for
your parents will go
home with you on the
left side of the folder
✺Each day, you will turn
the folder in for the
completed homework
or forms to be
collected
✺ You may quietly go and get
breakfast after you arrive and
unpack your things
✺ Sit at your assigned desk or table
and quietly enjoy breakfast until
everyone arrives
✺ Be sure to clean up after you are
finished
3. QUIETLY GET AND EAT
BREAKFAST UNTIL EVERYONE
ARRIVES
4. PENCILS
✺ If you do not have a pencil, you
may take one from the pencil
dispenser
✺ You do not have to ask to get a
pencil
✺ At the end of the day, Mrs.
Clay’s pencils should be returned
to the dull pencil bucket to be
sharpened for the next day
5. CLASSROOM
RESPONSIBILITIES
✺ Each week, every student will
be assigned a different job to
help around the classroom
✺ Everyone will get a turn at each
job, so there is no need to be
upset if someone gets the job
you want
✺ There will be a word
wall of common words
you may need to do
your assignments
✺ You may refer to the
wall to help with
spelling and visualizing
the word

6. WORD WALL
✺ Each table will have a
supply caddy available
when needed
✺ This has glue sticks,
scissors and rulers inside
✺ The caddy should be put
away if the supplies are
not needed

7. DESK SUPPLIES
✺ Each morning, we will start the day with a morning
8. MORNING meeting
MEETING ✺ This meeting includes a fun activity and time to
talk and share things with each other
✺ When we leave the classroom, we
should be calm and QUIET in the
halls
✺ You should stay in line, following
the person in front of you
✺ If you leave alone, you should still
remain quiet in the halls

9. LEAVING THE CLASSROOM


10. RESTROOM
✺ If you have to use the restroom,
silently cross your fingers and
raise your hand
✺ You may quietly leave if I tell
you to go or nod yes to you
✺ If you need time away from your
classmates to “cool-down” you may
sit there for 5 minutes
✺ Mrs. Clay will tell you to sit at the
“cool-down” table if you are
misbehaving or disrupting the class

✺ If you have a question
or something to say
during class time,
raise your hand until
Mrs. Clay calls on you
✺ Do not blurt out
answers or questions
during the lesson
