Personal Employability

Physical therapy as a job is the best fit for me because it is a service job that would not only benefit me

by getting the satisfaction from helping others, but also aid other people in becoming the best versions of

themselves they can be. The job incorporates face-to-face contact and restoring physical functioning for all

different types of people. Being a physical therapist requires patience and being a team player, both of which I

am able to maintain in tough situations. I am a determined worker and I will do anything in my power to make

the recovery process as painless as it possibly can be. To prepare myself to be a physical therapist, I will need to

do several shadowing opportunities of general and specific physical therapists. I plan on interning with my aunt

in the city of Indiannapolis where she specializes in hand physical therapy. I also plan on getting my yoga or

pilates certification in order to gain more experience in teaching others how to utilize their body in order to

maintain a healthy lifestyle. I hope to be able to have the extensive knowledge that is necessary to develop

programs and treatment plans in order to assist someone in the development of their physical health. This

knowledge will help me be able to come up with solutions quickly for difficult issues in the workplace and even

in everyday life. Throughout my highschool career, I have worked in customer service and I have learned how

to speak to others in a calm manner as well as satisfy others’ needs without compromising the flow of work.

Physical therapy is my number one occupation choice because it will provide me with a variety of tasks and

also a steady income to support my family in the future. The need for physical therapists is predicted to rise in

the next ten years, and I plan to be ready to serve others and contribute to the physical wellness of my

community.
