As long as stocks last
The KOMPATTA power units are designed for cleaning large residential areas and tertiary
environments of limited dimensions.
This monobloc power unit - with or without filter self-cleaning

system - can be supplied with one or two motors depending on
the number of operators (max 2) who are expected to use the
system at the same time.
The KOMPATTA is bigger than single-phase central units, with a
high surface-area filter cartridge and a longer life motor.
Thanks to the latest electronics it is possible to show the actual
state of the dust bin and see the operating condition both on the
machine and on the CONTROL DISPLAY.

as indicated below:

The Ø40 pipe can be installed in larger systems as long as it is only used for socket branches. The main column must be
realised with a Ø50 tube.

Main planning principles
WHERE TO POSITION THE VACUUM SOCKETS
The correct position of the vacuum sockets makes cleaning easier for the user, making it possible to
reach every zone of the building with savings in the realisation of the system.
The main parameter for establishing the position of the vacuum inlets is the length of the flexible
hose. The one recommended for the residential sector is 7 or 9 metres.
The main criteria for the positioning of the vacuum sockets are as follows:

HOW TO CALCULATE THE NUMBER OF THE VACUUM SOCKETS FOR THE RESIDENTIAL SECTOR
For a correct positioning of the vacuum sockets,

proceed as follows:
INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED:
1 - 1:100 plan C
2 - ruler and pencil
3 - compass
PROCEDURE:
A- Using the length of the flexible hose as a

reference ( 7 or 9 metres) take the overall dimensions First vacuum

B- Use a compass and all the scale plans of the
building and then open the compass to 1 m less than
the length of the flexible hose.
C- Position the first socket at the bottom of the GROUND FLOOR
stairs (see ground floor drawing).
D- Draw a circle on the plan, positioning the
centre on the point where the socket will be installed
to establish the range of action of the same socket.
E- Position the next sockets considering the range
of action of the first, leaving an overlap of the ranges
of action for safety.
F- Use the ruler to check if the positioning is
sufficient to cover all of the rooms (this phase is
very important).
G- Install the power unit in the garage or a
technical room.

PIPE FITTINGS
To avoid obstruction and load losses, we recommend using as many 45° elbows as possible and as
few 90° elbows as possible.
Load losses will be reduced and the risk of obstruction will almost be null.

HOW TO SWITCH ON THE SYSTEM
All the models of the NEW AIR series are available

with the following starting systems:
NEW AIR CONTACT STANDARD

with electrical contact. The power unit starts when
the flexible hose is inserted or when the switch on
the grip is turned on.
Remark: The use of the flexible hose with switch

is not recommended for multi-user systems.
NEW AIR ACTIV OPTIONAL

The power units starts when the incorporated micro-
switch (code NA699 - supplied on request) is
activated by the flap opening.
TYPES OF OPENING
NORMAL OPENING
The flap of the vacuum socket is opened

by hand. Recommended in residential and
small tertiary buildings.
“CONFORT” OPENING
NEW AIR SQUARE
This type of socket has been designed to
be easy to open: the automatic disconnect
lever makes opening the socket easy, even
when the system is operating.
Recommended for multi-user systems, and
systems with self-cleaning filter (the flap
doesn’t open when the self-cleaning sstem
is operating).

The single-phase power units

PERFETTO INOX LINE
These power units are designed to suit
environments where the system is not expected to
be used continuously like: houses, apartments,
villas, shops, offices, banks, restaurants, bars and
other entertainment places.
In industrial environments (factories and

warehouses) or in buildings where the system is
used continuously for more than one hour a day
(e.g. hotels and other holiday accomodations) we
recommend installing a three-phase power unit

residential areas.
Considering the surface areas this machine has to serve, it has been equipped

The three-phase power units

INSTALLATION OF A THREE-PHASE POWER UNIT OF THE CLASSIC LINE
The power unit of the central vacuum system shall be installed in a place protected from weather conditions,
humidity or sudden temperature changes. The installation site shall be sufficiently large and well-lit to help
carry out any intervention on the unit.

INSTALLATION OF A THREE-PHASE POWER UNIT OF THE PERFETTO LINE

Testing the pre-installation

Once the pre-installation has been completed, it is advisable to test the same.
TESTING THE PIPES
- Remove the plaster protective covers of the sockets frames and insert the testing plugs code AT260 (for TECH
socket frames) or code AT261 (for New Air,New Air LogiK, Square sockets frames).
- Turn on the testing control unit (if you don’t have one, use a portable vacuum cleaner) and check the vacuum
value on the vacuum gauge (code AT010).
- Connect the control unit to the pipe.
- With the control unit running, remove the plug from one socket frame, connect the vacuum gauge and read
the vacuum value.
The values obtained with the control unit and, -later-, with the system shall be the same. The admitted difference
shall not be greater than 50 mm H2O. If the difference is great, check the system for leakage.
TESTING THE CENTRAL VACUUM SYSTEM

Once all the vacuum sockets have been installed, check their operation by connecting a tester to their line
and by simulating the start-up of the power unit with the insertion of the flexible hose. Then install the
power unit and check the value of the max vacuum at the dust inlet using the vacuum gauge code AT010.
After this check, fix and connect the power unit. With the power unit running, check the max vacuum value
by connecting the vacuum gauge to one socket. If the difference between the value previously measured
and the last one is above 100 mmH2O, check the system for leaks. Inspect the vacuum sockets are fitted
properly and they are tight; then check the tightness of the whole system.
If none of the aforesaid problems is found, proceed

with the measurement of the vacuum during
operation as follows (see picture to the side):
a - insert the flexible hose supplied in the most
distant socket
vacuum gauge
b - insert the vacuum gauge in one intermediate
most distant
socket and, with the power unit running, read the socket
measured value
c - if this value is equal to or above 900 mmH2O, intermediate
socket
the system is in efficient working order.

PRESENCE OF OTHER SYSTEMS
The pipes of the central vacuum system are usually

installed together with the other systems to choose the
most suitable runs and avoid useless changes of direction.
Usually the pipes of the central vacuum system are
installed after plumbing and before wiring work.
Pipes should be laid using as few elbows as possible to
avoid load losses and restriction.

EXPANSION JOINTS
In presence of expansion joints or when connecting
separate buildings, it is advisable to fit suitable S-shaped
flexible joints for the suction pipes.
In these points, pipes shall be coated with a flexible
thermally insulated sheathing (20-30mm thickness) to
allow for longitudinal and transversal adjustments. m1 m1

CONNECTION OF SEPARATE BUILDINGS

For the connection of separate buildings, the air intake

FIRE REGULATIONS
If the pipes pass through walls or the vacuum sockets
are installed in walls that must be fireproof, safety
standards require the installation of fire prevention
systems.
In order to fulfil these regulations, Aertecnica supplies
special fire dampers (code VT110 - VT120 - VT130 -
VT140).
The pipe passes through the damper and when a fire
starts, the damping valve reacts to heat and closes the
pipe so as to prevent the fire from spreading.
Aertecnica fire dampers are made of a fire resistant
material (REI 180) that holds back fire and prevent it
from penetrating for 3 hours.
