Process:
Too be honest this was a pretty easy project. I enjoyed every minute of the process of making
“The Big Day” film. I remember when I got assigned the project and which group, I was going to
be in. From that point it was like a piece of cake. On the first day that we got together to
converse about our project, Rigel wasn’t in class so me and Maurice had to come up with an
idea. We didn't really spend that much time thinking about an idea because we had already
thought about what we wanted to do for the project a while back when Ms. Paula first discussed
it in class. It was more like a comparison to see which idea would be a better fit for the project.
Maurice had an amazing idea for the project, but we went with mines which is based off our first
After that day, we got together in class again, but this time Rigel was there. During that class
period we spent time telling Rigel what we conversed about and what we were actually going to
do for the project. Once he heard the idea, he thought it was pretty cool and was down to do the
project based off the idea. From that point on we spent about thirty percent of the project on our
own at home and about seventy-five percent of the project at parkland. At home, we had to

record ourselves getting ready for the interview. When I had to record myself, I was a little
nervous because I never had to act before. So, I really didn’t know If I was doing it right. Also, I
was a little nervous because I didn't want to look like a fool of myself on the video in all honesty.
But with the help of my supportive girlfriend she guided me through the steps to take on making
my video look more realistic. I made a lot of mistakes, but we kept recording until I got it right.
It was very frustrating at first but the more time me and my girlfriend spent recording for the
project, made me feel more confident and made the moment more enjoyable.
When we met at parkland, we spent a lot of time in the writing lab recording with Ms. Amber
Landis (I don't know if she’s a teacher or not, but I know she is a tutor at parkland college). She
was super chill and nice when it came to help with our project. Her title in the video was being
the boss/Hiring Manager for the job interview. Her role was to conduct an interview to see who a
good fit for her organization would be. After conducting the interview, she was to determine who
got the job after they passed their drug test. She did an excellent job playing her role and was a
wonderful help.
Overall, making this video was a huge success. I’m glad that I was selected for the group that I'm
in and I’m glad we all contributed to the video. We took the project day by day and we got it
done. I feel like this under ten-minute film it what we needed to realize how effective teamwork
Purpose:
3
We all know people who are irresponsible, mature, and even lazy etc. Traits like these not only
help determine a person’s character but as you transition into adulthood it shows how you think
towards life and what type of adult you will be. This film was made to show how adolescents
prioritize their time to get ready for an interview. The reason we are choosing to film this is
because interviews are a good way to illustrate adulting. Interviews show how well-prepared
people are, how mature people are, and show how responsible people are. But not only does the
interview show that, but the way an individual prioritizes their time until the interview shows
that as well. Hopefully this video will inspire people to take the mature way of doing things
Audience:
This film is meant for anyone that hasn’t done a job interview before or someone who struggles
with getting hired after an interview. We want to show people how to prioritize their time so they
will succeed at getting hired at jobs. By doing so, we have three adolescents that take three
different approaches towards preparing for the job interview. One takes the mature way by
getting up on time and making sure he is properly prepared for the job interview. The other takes
a partially mature approach towards the job interview but doesn’t show he is responsible. And
last but not least the third adolescent takes a completely immature and irresponsible approach
towards preparing for the job interview. If someone were to watch this, that individual will be
able to relate to at least one of the characters because they may act similar to what each character
Organization:
4
I can't really say what the organization of the video is because I didn’t edit it. But one thing I can
say is that we tried to make sure everything was correlated together so it made sense and it had
smooth transitions. When we were discussing the project in class, we talked about the steps we
would take to complete the project. The first task that we needed to complete was recording
ourselves at home preparing for our interview. This would be somewhat our introduction into the
film, and it will help us transition into the interview smoothly. So, after we recorded ourselves
recording for the interview, We shared with each other what we recorded and then we headed to
the writing center to record our job interview. This was good because in these scenes it shows
who has a shot at getting the job and who automatically doesn't. After we recorded this, the last
task was to record ourselves giving constructive criticism to one another. Once we did this, it put
Collaboration:
At first when I started attending this English class, I didn't know anyone. I just attended the class,
learned what the teacher was teaching and that's it. But this project helped me meet some really
cool people. Ever since the day we met and heard about this project, We worked really hard to
complete this project while having a fun time doing it. Rigel was super laid back and chill. Also
he worked very hard to complete every task on time. Maurice was very open-minded and
focused. He went the extra mile to by editing the video to make sure the video was ready to be
nominated for best English film award. Overall I’m glad that we were all in the same group
because we show how creative we could be when we step out of our shell.
Too be honest I never thought I could act but I think I did a really amazing job in this film. This
short film makes me want to come up with more ideas for adulting and make like little episodes
to display on YouTube. The biggest lesson I learned from this project is teamwork is key
whenever you are doing any group project. If at least one of us didn't show up and do our part for
the film, it probably wouldn't of come out how we expected it to be. Overall, I think this was an
