Antidepressant for Placebo Effect

"The advertising is not portraying the science in a true light," Dr. Jonathan Leo on the false claim
of antidepressants. Millions of people are getting addicted to various kinds of drugs on market
for a quick fix, and antidepressant is the most popular among them for the modern stressful life.
Not only adults but children's are also prescribed drug for instant remedy. However,
antidepressant can be injurious to health rather than cure. Antidepressant is another kind of
hoax used by doctors extensively to treat patients with the term known as 'placebo effect'.

In theory people get depressed when they don’t have enough serotonin in their brain and
antidepressant balances the level. We know that’s wrong, since there is no chemical in market
which can restore the body chemical other than our own glands. In the case of USA, 600,000
adults and children are under psychiatrist treatment and patients believe antidepressant's can
steady the chemical imbalance in body even though profound researchers do not think the
same. Here's the thing, antidepressant can result various abnormal behaviors in children such
as social dysfunction, academic underachievement, impaired self-image, and suicidal and anti-
social behavior.

Frustrated patients claim that it's a mental excuse that the drugs do more remedy than harm in
short time. What they forget is that the cure and remedy is actually the intuition of their mind
and antidepressant is just another medicine found in the drug stores which needs to be avoided.
From another perspective doctors have started using placebo medicines instead of real
antidepressant in their treatments since it effect's the human behavioral minds to a large extend
without any chemical or side effects. There are other treatments that on average work as well as
antidepressants such as physical exercise and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy. However, if
antidepressants are intended for usage, they must be used as a last resort in patients who are
extremely depressed and have tried all the other alternate methods that have not worked for
them.

Looking at the relevant facts, I strongly believe that antidepressant should be avoided since it
is not the ultimate remedy for prolonged depression; instead it's a narcotic medicine for
satisfaction. At the end of the day we all can rely on the medical advancement for more cure
and treatment to replace antidepressant but in meantime we can try to use alternative relaxation
techniques such as yoga, massage B vitamins which have worked since generations and are
much healthier and without harmful side effects.
