Music is one part of art thas has been embedded in human life for a very long time.
Such a long time, so they cannot be determined. However, music is estimated to have exist
around 55.000 years ago. The development of music is influenced by many things. The two
main things are religion and culture. Medieval spiritual activities have been accompanied by
music in form of choirs. While African culture where they are treated as claves also grow

spiritual or cultural activities, but music is more heard to improve mood and peace of mind.
Music is a beneficial art wich can build up our emotion to be relax, happy, and melancholy.
Music as relaxation is music that is listened to cause peace of mind. Some music that
can cause a relaxing effect are classical mucic and jazz music. Classical music has a
combination of low notes and high notes, so it can stimulate the C quadrant in the brain. Until
the age of 4 years, quadrant B and C will develop by 80% by listening to classical music. So
this type of music is good for babies. In addition, the ability of classical music to stimulate
brain function shows that classical music with a certain composition such as soft classic music
will make the mind relax. The same is true of jazz music. The brain has two waves associated
with triggers of relaxation and triggers of sleep. Both waves can be found in jazz music. So,
the effect that arises when someone listen to jazz music regularly is calmness and good sleep
quality.
Music also bring someone into a happy mood. These type of music are reggae and pop
music. Reggae music is suitable for calming people who have explosive emotion. The tone of

explosive emotion will subside. Likewise, pop music, this genre of music is the most popular
music. The music is light and easy to disgest. So, it makes people easy to arous spirit and make
the brain or heart activity stable.
The last is music can create a melancholy mood. Maybe people only listen to this type
of music when they feel sad. One type of this music is blues music. Blues music is come from
the groans of the African worker, as it development, the hue of this music still dominated by
melancholy elements. However, some research show that listening to the melancholy music
and crying for a while can bring relief and calm effect afterwards.
Because music is a stimulation. Someone who hears it will show several different
responses in form of emotion. Those emotions are influenced by the heart and the brain activity.
