Lesson 1
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, learners are expected to:
1. Define Contemporary Arts.
2. Explain the art forms and the development of Philippine Arts
3. Describe the form of integrated contemporary art in the
Philippines in choreography, musical
4. Know instrument, literary and music composition, visual
design and theatrical performance.

II. CONTENT
A. Topic: Integrative Art As Applied To Contemporary Art
B. Learning Competency: Identifies various contemporary art forms and
their practices from the various regions (CAR11/12IAC-0a-1)
Classifies various art forms found in the Philippines
(CAR11/12IAC-0b-2)

1. Motivation:
The teacher will set an art reaction game.

2. Presentation:
This lesson focuses on the combination of different art forms as seen in
modern times.

3. Activity:

The teacher will instruct the student to choose among the art forms
which strike their interest.

4. Application:
The teacher will let the student to explain their choice.
C. Evaluation

I. Listen carefully. Write LOVE if the statement is true and HATE if it is false.
1. Modern art refers to the period that began in the 1960’s. (HATE)
2. Contemporary arts are sensitive on social issues. (LOVE)
3. Application of appropriation in pre-existing art always maintains its value. (HATE)

2. Get a whole new view of region’s culture and history.
3. Show appreciation on the role of contemporary art and artist in
Philippine contemporary art.

1. Motivation:
The teacher together with student will have a brainstorming about the
contemporary artist in the Region.
2. Presentation:
This lesson is a continuation of the previous lesson but it focuses more
on the significant contemporary artists from the regions (emphasizing the
region where the school is based).

3. Activity:

The teacher will instruct the student to complete the description table of
the artist, its work and contribution. .
4. Application:
The student will answer and give their significant understanding of the
artist‘s great influence in the society.
C. Evaluation

Answer the following questions.

1. What are the significances of arts forms from the regions?


2. How will you promote arts from the regions?
3. Whose national artist had made a great influence and contributions? Elaborate
your answer.

2. Presentation:
This lesson is a continuation of the previous lesson but it focuses more
on the significant artist in music and dance.

3. Activity:

The teacher will divide the class into 4 groups. Each group will
cooperatively answer the given sets of questions.

4. Application:
The student will be able to distinguish the significant contribution of the
artist and their particular works.
