1. a) the planets in the solar system;

3. c) the relative sizes of the planets.
Content
Activity -I will begin class by handing out a packet
containing information about the solar system. This
packet will be used during their activity and can
also be used as a study guide.
-Once everyone has a packet I will go over the
information that is in the packet and review any
other information we have gone over the past few
days.
-After the review is finish I will ask the students to

relationships among Earth, the moon, and the sun.
Key concepts include
1. a) the motions of Earth, the moon, and the
sun;
2. b) the causes for Earth’s seasons;
3. c) the causes for the phases of the moon;
4. d) the relative size, position, age, and
makeup of Earth, the moon, and the sun; and
5. e) historical contributions in understanding
the Earth-moon-sun system.
- I will begin class by going over the materials we
will be using in our collaborating assignment. I will
give notes on the board that the students will be
able to write down and I will also answer any
questions before we start.
-Students will be asked to get into groups of four
and download ChatterPix Kids. They will also be
asked to have their textbooks out so they can use
them as a guide for the assignment.
-I will explain to them that ChatterPix Kids is an app
where they are able to upload a photo of anything
they want and make that photo talk. Once they

that they are able to use to study off of for their
upcoming tests. I will provide them with an
example deck of flashcards that will be kept on the
board while they are doing their assignment. I will
also walk around to help them throughout the class
period.
-Their flashcards may be multiple choice or fill in
the blank. They must have a minimum of 20
flashcards and they will be given two class periods
to get this done. They are able to use their packets
they are given to find the information from.
-Once students are done they will show me their
sets of flashcards they have created so that I can
assure that they are right.
Technology Quizlet
Quizlet is a free app that can be downloaded on
both Apple and Android devices. It is a flashcard
Technology
based app that lets you create fill in the blank and
multiple choice flashcards. This app is a great way
for students to prepare themselves for upcoming
tests and quizzes.
Before you submit, delete the explanatory text (the text in small italics).
understand this concept I will ask them to upload
pictures of the sun, moon, and earth. They will be
required to take turns recording themselves talking
while they are the earth, sun, and moon and giving
information about each one. They will be required
to use the information from the notes they have
been given or the textbook.
-Once groups have finished I will check to make
sure that their information is accurate and
appropriate and then each group will present their
project to the class.

ChatterPix Kids is a free app that can be
downloaded on both Apple and Android devices.
ChatterPix Kids is a way to give your photos a voice.
Take a photo, draw a line, and add your voice. This
app gives students an opportunity to learn while
also having fun.
