Activity This review activity will be used after the class has already gone over the lesson
for the Civil War, as the purpose of this assignment is to put in order all major
events of the war from start to finish. First the teacher will briefly outline the Civil
War so that the students will be ready to put the event together in order, just as a
refresher. Next Class Flow will be used to play a sequencing game using major
event of the war. Students can break apart into small groups that will serve as
teams. The teacher will administer “buzzers” to the teams and set a thirty second
timer after they have established a representative to keep the “buzzer”. During
this time the teams will have to decide which event they think happens first, and
buzz in when they believe they have the correct answer. The teacher will take the
chosen item and put it in the bubble, if it is right it will stay, and if it is not, it will
not stay in the bubble. If right, the team will receive a point for every one they
chose first that is correct. If a team chooses the wrong answer, the teacher will
choose another group that can potentially steal the point. At the end of the
Pedagogy

assignment, the teacher will see who has the most points and announce the
winner. Once all the items are in the correct order, the teacher will one more time
go over each item and discuss the significance. If the class has trouble with the
order, the teacher can reset the game, or explain the correct order to the students
in depth.
