The name of the learning of this group is Evolution and our target
audience is the Senior High School STEM Students of Far Eastern University
Alabang. Our learning area will be decorated in accordance to the theme of
the whole class which is a “Zoo” theme. There will also be an audio visual
aid for the audience which is about evolution as well. There will be letterings
cutout for “Evolution” which is the title of the learning area. There is then a
cartolina with some texts and concept for evolution. The area is adorned
with cutout flowers and fake vines, leaves, and animal and human footprint
cutouts. Beside the texts is a yarn that has pictures depicting the Geological
Time Scale attached to it with the use of laundry clips. A mini game about
the evolution of the structure of species is included as well which takes place
in a form of matching pictures and description style. It will be facilitated by
two members from the group.

The materials to be used are recycled papers, cartolina, artificial

flowers and plants, laptop and a speaker, brown yarn, and wooden laundry
clips. Branching from our main topic which is evolution, the concepts
included in our learning area are the Theories of Evolution, Evolution of
Structures, Geological Time Scale, and applications of Evolution in STEM.

Additionally, STEM is incorporated in our learning area through the

presentation of our audio visual aids and is put into text as well. Technology
is applied in Evolution through the use of Carbon Dating which is a method
to determine the estimated age of matter. Software and computer engineers
are innovating different software to track dates of excavated fossils and
remnants of the past. Engineering is also applied in evolution as we try to
mitigate and adapt to the warming environment; demanding for structures
and solutions for us to sustain our lives here on earth. The mathematics in
evolution is evident in the mathematical models used to depict the Time
Scale of life on earth and on classifying and grouping species through
epochs. Statistical models are also used in evolution through various
methods of modelling the changes in the population of a particular specie/s
overtime. Genetic variability also requires the use of mathematics to display
the amount of variability and the exhibition of changes as a specie evolves.

To make our learning area interactive, a minigame about evolution will

also be displayed. The audience are presented with a group of images and
they are to identify if a structure (homologous, analogous, vestigial) belongs
to the group. This will be facilitated by two of the members from the learning
area who are to explain and guide the audience with the minigame.
