CHAPTER 11 – STAGES OF DEV TEAM

EFFECTIVE OF PROJECT TEAM

PROB SOLVING

TIME MGT

DEFINITION? You are working in a team.

Recommendation, show the respects to other. Harmonious team. Make sure individual understand
with their own task.

Establish good communication. It should be timely not one off. Be frank and professional.

Establish clear and develop goals. Give clear task/goals that has their objective. Recognition is the
best way to give strong commitment.

Demonstrate , must be loyalty, follow team’s interest. To help foster the relationship.

1st stage : involves ... once became an employee/assigned by the manager into a team/once achieve
this 1st stage . it will eager our curiosity. Direction – in terms of giving orientation. / tell about the
project constraint. Example .... structure, that is said during the prelimenary.

2nd stage – storming. We done our RAM. We will be assign based on our KSA. We are worth to hold
such position. But in storming. When we do the actual ... conflict will arise when we started our do
our own task. So project mnager need to do how to handle it,...became directive but less than the
first stage just now. Not defensive but tolerate with each other and what concern them. (FIND MORE
IN TEXT BOOK)

3rd stage – norming . relationship become settle... Cohesion is begin to develop.. because of greater
sharing of ideas and feelings. Minimize- supportive roles.

4rd stage- more eager to achieve objective. Frank and timely. (communication) , assign duties (willing
to collaborate even outside their responsibilities) , need to empower them . (who incharge food
operator/caterer?) , acts as a mentor.(supporting the growth of the people).

EFFECTIVE PROJECT TEAM.

Characteristic ..clear expectations (diff KSA, can assign RAM effectively.) result orientation ( mini
objective..) high degree ..(willing to cooperate with each other beyond ur assign task.)

Barriers.

2. it might overlap. Should meet individually n explain their roles. Provide them the job descp/copy of
ur RAM.

6. poor leadership ( not able to .. in order to keep on track ) chap 2 . charac of leadership. Fail on
collecting feedback

7. turnover rate ( effective, 1st stage. Need time to know the commiittee knowledge on what they
expert.) it could affect the sequence.

Characteristics of Effective Team Members

1.Need to plan, wbs ram network diagram , costing . control it . comeout with progress report. Feel
accountable... answerable for the action that we had done.

2.A good team member had high expectation. ( we are expected to do some task, so we do beyond it
if we do more than one task)

4.if task A not completed . cannot do task B. If any person cnnot the task and ur willing to do the task
. so do it timely. Make sure eveything complete in time.

5. meeting team meeting. Need to participate. Need to voice out idea.

6. identify prob as earliest as possible. Therefore it is effective project. No term “I(ME)” its always in
team “(WE)”.

Team Building

Ongoing not one off- attended training.. team building are the concern. If project manager want to
build team but u didnt support it will fail. Socialization – get some pizza to work together to release
stress. Talk informal to the rest. Social event – Dinner...

Team meeting – 2 types of meeting. Cannot discuss anything related to project meeting. Just team
meeting.

Conflict on project. – some of the conflict is beneficial. Problem solving skills. It cannot be avoided.
