 1. Introduction & Brief Description of the topic:
Culture plays an important role in the development of any nation. It represents a set of
shared attitudes, values, goals and practices. Culture and creativity manifest themselves in
almost all economic, social and other activities. A country as diverse as India is
symbolized by the plurality of its culture.
India has one of the world’s largest collections of songs, music, dance, theatre, folk
traditions, performing arts, rites and rituals, paintings and writings.
The proposed centres for culture and art would be centres of excellence for promotion of
various visual arts such as painting, sculpture and ceramics and performing arts like
music, dance and theatre. Each centre has a specialised role in promoting and training
people in visual and performing arts. Some centres also provide training in culinary arts.

2. SITE DETAILS:

Location- Vasant Kunj ,near Sultan Garhi Tomb

Area= 11.25 acres

3. Aim & Objectives

It will be a green building with an eco- friendly design. A lot of emphasis will be laid on
creating green areas. There will be terrace gardens in the building blocks. Interlinking
pedestrian courtyards will be created for all buildings, connecting them with the natural
landscape. The centre will be disabled-friendly.
There is a provision of a library and a convention centre block, which will have an
auditorium, conference halls, exhibition space etc. Special features like the spa, aerobic
hall, audio-visual library will also get constructed which will appeal to people. Space will
be allocated for open air theatres, water bodies, lawns etc. Adequate parking space will be
provided at the centre.

4. Methodology

Step 1-LITERATURE STUDIES related to the typology

Step 2- carrying out LIVE CASE STUDIES of the same
Step 3- Site Analysis of chosen site
Step 4- keeping in mind and following the requirements as proposed by the client
Step 5- Design strategy to meet the demand of design criteria.
Step 6- With the help of design strategy arriving at a design concept which finally
leads to the evolution of design.
5. Scope & Limitations

 This project’s scope will be high due to the increasing population.

 The scope of the project extends only to the architectural design of the complex.

 It will cater to all classes of people and not only specific sections of the society.
