II- Professional Information
1- Overall Aim of the Course
The aim of this course is to establish the logic,
knowledge and rules which describe the
thermodynamic and kinetic behavior of
metallurgical systems; thus, the major purpose
of the course is the determination of the effect
of temperature and pressure of the environment
on the kinetics and the equilibrium states of the
given metallurgical system The following ways
of thinking are used:

monetary approach )‫)المنهج النقدى‬,
research methodology (‫)منهج البحث العلمى‬, and
heuristics (‫)االستدالل‬, this could be
elicitation )‫(االستنباط من العام إلى الخاص‬, or

(ILOs)

appropriate to the discipline of
metallurgical engineering, and
A2- principles and basic topics related
with stabilities of metallurgical
systems.

for modeling and analyzing
metallurgical problems,

the rules and derivation of the basics
related to metallurgical processes.

related to materials processing,
manufacturing, development and

engineering practice integrally to

solve related metallurgical
engineering problems,
C2- professionally merging the
engineering knowledge and feedback

and systems, and carry out specialized
engineering designs considering
safety, quality, assurance procedures
and environmental aspects,
C4- using appropriate optical
metallography, X-ray examination,
electron metallography, chemical
analysis methods and corrosion testing
for cases related to metallurgical
engineering, and

C5- applying numerical modeling methods
to metallurgical engineering
problems.
