AAWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing

The lesson was about healthy and unhealthy and the students must know the difference between
them

Describe (D):

Who is the lesson for? The lesson was for KG2-4, they are 26 students but 3 were absent.

Where did the lesson take place? The lesson was taught in their class.

What were you trying to achieve in your lesson? in this lesson I wanted the students to know the
difference between healthy and unhealthy and be able to sort them in math center.

What did the students do? First in the carpet they had to answer the question and tell me while I
was showing them the pictures it is healthy or unhealthy, after I finish they must go their centers,
in the English centers they had like a book where it’s written “I like to eat ___” they should write what
they like “apple “there will be written for them the words so it will be easier for them. In the math
center the students have to sort, by colors, healthy, unhealthy food, fruits and vegetable they will have
cutted papers and a paper. In the science center, they had a paper that have a picture and two tables
“what does grow in the tree” and “what does grow underground”. In the other centers, they had two
pictures, “fill Sara’s stomach with healthy food” they will have pictures of the healthy food and they must
cut it and put it in Sara’s stomach. The last center the students had like a plane plate, and different kind
of papers that have vegetables, fruits, healthy and unhealthy pictures. Some students will have to put
the fruits and vegetable and the other students will have to put the healthy and unhealthy

Analyze (A):

Why do you think the students responded the way that they did? The students were able to
understand me because I model it for them and I bring real objects to show them the difference
between both healthy and unhealthy

How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding? My teaching did well to
the students prior understand because I did my best to manage the time and to match the centers
with the outcome

How well did you engage the students? The students were able to collaborate with me , be active
with me. In the circle time I showed them a presentations
Appraise (A):

Explain the nature of the experience from the students’ perspective? The students learn about
healthy and unhealthy, and what is the difference between them and what our stomach need to let
our body stay healthy

Did your lesson meet your teaching goals? This lesson plan yes it did, and I'm happy with what I
did because in the first lesson I had difficulties in managing the time and the closing part. In the
managing time I wrote in the board what I'll do in each 15 minutes and I practiced the day
before. And in the closing part this time I let them do the cleanup and then the assessment for the
closing part

How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future? They will be able to know
how to stay healthy and how to balance by eating healthy and unhealthy

What are the implications for your professional practice? My MCT was so happy with my lesson;
she told that I did well. I linked Dewey theory because I linked the 3 subjects
