In writing my essay on global warming, I had to begin by defining key terms such as the

rise in sea levels. It was crucial that this essay was presented in formal language that adheres to

MLA standards. The audience for my essay is academic. Thus, I was able to assume that my

professor and peers had some precursory knowledge of what global warming is and that it is a

crisis affecting all life forms on Earth. In order to show pathos in my essay with the strict

guidelines, I used facts that are at extreme levels around the world to help image the possibilities

of what the future could look like. In that way I was able to make the essay into four body

paragraphs, each explaining sea water level and the different impacts it has around the world.

The purpose of the essay and the website was to inform the readers on the importance of an issue

global warming creates, and that is sea levels rising. The sources I used helped me shape my

essay into what it is. For example, one of my sources provided me the knowledge of a few facts

that were shocking to me to be real, with this information I decided to make my topic on Global

warming. This source gave me the vision to make at least a paragraph on the dangers of coastal

cities, as I found out the majority of big cities with bigger populations live in coastal areas. A

different source provided me with very sad pictures, this was important to my essay because it

added a sense of pathos. However, from a different source I was able to find pictures that
important information to know about water levels rising. Therefore, all my sources were as

equally important as the other, because little bits of each led to the foundation of my essay.

Another factor that pushed me to choose the topic of Global warming is because many don’t

believe it is a real crisis. My intentions on creating this essay is to give readers a bit more

knowledge about the facts in order to get rid of the fake news. If people learned that water levels

rising is a cause of Global warming, they would surely believe that it is real and begin to care

about the earth more.

After my final draft of the essay was finished, came the harder part for me. The hard part

was turning my essay into a website. At first I couldn't vision my full essay as an actual cool

looking and modern website like the ones I have seen before, but after a few days to learn how to

use the website tools I created my full functioning website. What I did is a bit less complicated

than what it looks, I took vital information from my essay and made a separate tab for each topic,

to explain them easier. While creating my website and editing it, I realized that websites don’t

have restrictions to help create and explain my purpose like the essay did with MLA format.

Websites require more pictures and less writing to keep the reader on the website and intrigue

them to stay. In that moment I decided to add a lot more pictures and edited my website. In fact,

if it was compared to the first version of my website and the essay, I more than doubled that

amount in each tab on my second website version. After adding more pictures to each tab, I

changed the color of the background for everything. I did this change because I also changed the

design layout of the website. The layout in the first version of the website looked to basic and

plain, which I didn't like, because it did not give the website feel that I wanted. In order to get
what I visioned in my head, I had to change the entire formatting of the first website. Although I

didn’t have restrictions, there were a few limitations on making the website. For example, I

couldn't change the color of the font for any of the titles but I was able to change the color for the

rest of the writing. A few of these little details, is why my website is as colorless as it looks, but

in that case I decided to make my website with a black, grey, and white color scheme to make it

look important and serious. I didn't get the feel of a website until I created the second version of

my website and edited.

My vision of the website, couldn't be done without the help from my peers, as they gave

me the ideas with the versions of their websites to make a serious and professional website

instead of something else. All together, I tried to create a website to inform about a serious

problem around the world, and gave it a professional look with a sense of pathos to give it the

sad feeling it needed to keep the audience on my website. The website I created can hopefully

inform people about the dangers that are soon to come after us, and can help the readers to be

more aware of the sea water levels near them. I took many hours to make a full website with

reliable sources and quality information, but that was not what took me the longest. Learning

how to edit the website requires patience and vision, and I am a person with little patience but I

put hard work into it in order to hopefully help the people reading the website as much as I can.

Creating a simple layout in order for people to use my website with no problems or requiring

help is the least I could do to make a change, and stop global warming. As water levels continue

to be a crisis, I believe my website can be very beneficial to others.
