Headline Pentil High School Drum and Lyre Corps sweet success!

About the subject matter The drum and lyre competition: It is one of the activities for the celebration of the
Founding Anniversary of Aleosan. This year’s competition is indeed remarkable to us
because it’s the first time that we won as first runner-up. Pentil High School drum and
lyre corps consists of ninety-six participants.
The school head: Mrs. Annabelle C. Suspeňe is one of the hardworking and dedicated
teachers of Tubak High School main campus wherein Pentil High school is one of its
annexes. She was awarded as best secondary teacher in the municipality of Aleosan for
the school year 2015-16, and earned her Master of Arts in Educational Management
(MAEM) with Complete Academic Requirement or CAR at Southern Christian College,
Midsayap, Cotabato. And as a school head, she never stops supporting and encouraging
not only the students but also the teachers that despite we belong to small schools, we
can win the competition.
The story The municipality of Aleosan celebrates its founding anniversary every 6th day of April.
As member of this municipality, all schools are encouraged to join the annual drum and
lyre competition. It has two categories: elementary and high school. Pentil High School
has only 215 students that’s why it is not easy to choose the participants because of
financial problem. Another challenge that our school encountered is the far distance of
the school to the municipality of Aleosan that’s why our travel is so expensive. Despite
all of these, the students are eager to join because they are motivated by their teachers.

“I am happy because we have supportive parents. I didn’t find it impossible to win


because our students gave their best and their parents are always there to support
morally and financially,” said Mrs. Almie D. Bertolano.

The Parents Teachers Association and the Barangay Local Government Unit or (BLGU)
never showed hesitation for the good of their children.

About the location or venue of the subject Pentil High School is located at the hinterland of one of the farthest barangays in the
municipality of Aleosan. During the school year 2017- 2018, it has a total enrolment of
215. Being strategically located in barangay Pentil- considered as one of the agricultural
areas in the province of North Cotabato.
