Our podcast will be entitled “A Girl and A Gay,” This podcast will be all about the
memories that Tyler and Jessica have had throughout their lifetimes. We will start at age 5 since
before that is way too young to remember. We will go back and forth between each other’s
memories.

The genre this podcast falls under is memoir. This podcast for class falls under this category
because it will feature our memories from the last 18 years of our lives. Our rationale for
choosing this genre is that we both have so many memories that we would like to look back on
and discuss with our audience. We intend for our podcast episode to help our listeners feel
more connected with us.

Description of Host
This podcast will be co-hosted between Jessica Howard and Tyler McGuire. We will
work together and speak to each other through the entire thing. Both are 18 years old and
freshmen in college.

Tyler’s biography line will be: …and I’m just the gay!
Jessica’s biography line will be: I’m just a girl in this podcast!

Estimated Length of show

We are planning to create a show that lasts approximately twenty minutes per episode and
there would be approximately four episodes. One for each happy, sad, angry, and funny
memories. Our podcast for this class will be about twenty minutes long and our first talk will
consist of the very first memory that comes to our mind for each year, regardless of the way it
made us feel. Our rationale for coming to this decision was that we have both been alive for 18
years so this gives us each approximately one minute per year to talk about our favorite
memories, and it leaves us time for introductions and anything at the end.

Proposed Frequency of show

We will have weekly episodes of our podcast. The rationale for choosing this is because we
want to keep in contact with our audience and give them something to look forward to. Most
podcasts also have weekly new episodes and this is a trend we would like to follow.

Script vs Outline
For our podcast, we will only be using an outline of topics. We found that if we put too much
thought into what we are going to say then we may forget the things that mean the most to us.
We will not interview any guests, the only thing we will do is periodically comment on what the
other said or ask a question.

Cover Image
Our cover image is a photo we took together while driving through our hometown. This picture
means a lot to us because it is the last one we took together in Bullhead City. We added our
podcast title to the top of the photo in a diagonal way. This will be the cover photo for the entire
series.
Additional Comments Rationale

We did not do a typical podcast, we selected a genre that would be more interesting for
ourselves and our families and friends to listen to. However, it still should be entertaining to
other listeners as well.
