Intoduction

One of productive skills which is very important to be mastered by English


learners is writing skill. Writing is one of language skills. In the division of
language skills, writing is always placed last after the ability to listen, speak and
read. Although it is always written last, it does not mean writing is an unimportant
ability.

There is no hesitation that writing skill gives many contributions in the


literary world. According to Brown (2004: 218) states that writing skill has become
indispensable and has high significance in this global literature.

As we known that business transactions, records, legal documents, political


and military agreements are written by those who are expert in their field with
knowledge of writing skill.

As Richard and Renandya (2002: 303) states that writing is the most difficult
skill for second language and foreign language learners.

Furthermore, they claim that writing is not only generating and organizing
ideas of our mind, but also translating these ideas into a readable text. Based on
their arguments, it seems common that many learners particularly those of foreign
language learners have some degrees of difficulties in writing. Therefore, some
efforts need to be done in order to maintain or improve the students’ writing skill.
Writing is the important skills in English to becomes a mastering of English
language. Writing skills are an importants parts of communication, because
through writing we can express our feelings and our idea or argument to influence
another about our argument and so on. Many people said that writing is an art to
take our ideas or informations and present them in a nice written format for others
to read, we present what we know in a format that conforms to the expectations of
the reader.

Teaching writing to students is a good way to improve their writing skill,


student can bring her feelings in written form or text in paper. Teaching writing is
very important to student to improve their skills becomes mastering of English
language or bocomes good author. So many students want becomes author can
write some usefull books to others, but they do not want to learn writing, how can
they be good writers if like that? In fact, writing is a skill that more difficult other
than language skills, such as listening, reading and speaking skills.

So, students need more struggle to study hard about writing skill. In the
process of writing, it is required to pay attention to the structure related to the
elements of the writing, in order the readers can understand the message conveyed
by the author.

One of the best ways to get good skill in writing is by practice to write the
essay, proposal or others kind of writing like that. And one of way to get good skill
in writing is learning IWCP ( Intensive Written communication practice) it is very
important subject for students to improve our writing skill and to becomes good
author so they can be easily to make a good thesis for the last semester in order to
graduate on time. This subject is focus to study about essay writing, how to write a
good essay in English. So, students should have a good comprehension about the
ways to make a good essay, and practice to make an essay. It is one of the ways to
increase writing skill of the students.

All in all, IWCP is one of the ways to get best knowledge about writing. In
this subject, lecturer and students need more effort to learn and practice to write.
Furthermore, lecturer must have a good method to teach his students in order to
make learning process enjoyable. Moreover, students require to read a lot of
reading texts that related with English, such as read a journal, newspaper, novel,
and others in the form of English. So, it can support them to write well. In addition
to, teaching IWCP will be easier if students want to focus to learn and listen
carefully the explanations from lecturer about this subject. Besides, teaching IWCP
provides some materials which can help students to increasing and developing the
skill of writing. Finally, the students will be able to know their ability in writing
through teaching IWCP quickly and who whan to becomes good author know their
ability.

The objective of IWCP 1

Base on the introduction above, the objectives of IWCP 1 are to improve


student’s ability in writing skills, and find or develop their hobby in writing to
reach their dreams becomes good writer.

The significance of IWCP 1


The course of IWCP1 is expected to be useful for increasing the student’s
writing and help them to be a good writer

Teaching writing to students is a good way to improve their writing skill,


student can bring her feelings in written form or text in paper. Teaching writing is
very important to student to improve their skills becomes mastering of English
language or bocomes good author.
Learning IWCP (Intensive Written Communication Practice) is one way to
increase our skill in writing, IWCP is very important to students especially in
English majority who want to become a good author and to get their dreams.

Meeting 14
Intoduction
In this meeting the lecturer gave students an assignment to do the study tour
and make a report about teaching IWCP 1 and study tour also, and take some
pictures as evidence of the activity(study tour). The lecturer asked student to
practice their English speaking with native speakers, at least two native speakers.
Speaking with native speakers can train students to influence their tongues to speak
in English.
We can learn many things from the conversation with the native
speakers,from the direct conversation with native speakers we can learn about
pronouncation, grammar, and especially in speaking. So, the study tour or
speaking with native speakers has a lot of benefits we can take from it.

Description
Study tour or speaking with native speakers is one of ways to improve our
skills in English especially in speaking skill, because we can speak, listen, and
practice our English skills directly to native speakers.
Last week the writer went to kuta beach to practice my English speaking
while doing a task from lecturer.
The writer met with foreigner from England her name is elly, she is a student
at one of the universities in her country,and he also works part time at one of the
restaurants, He came to Indonesia on Kuta beach to spend her holiday. Mrs. Elly
and writer were talking Speaking very comfortable, and Mrs.Elly very friendly and
well attitude with the sasak people , she loves sasak people because they are so
friendly whit her.
He told me her experience in her job and tells a little about her life well it’s
her life as a student or her life in everyday. When the conversation is going on I
know that she is very liked to see the beautiful view and climb the mountain so, I
suggested her to go to rinjani mountain to climbing, After I said that he looks very
interested and said that she will go to rinjani Mountain with his friends later. He
also said that she very enjoyed her holiday in Lombok because there are many
beautiful view and sasak people is very friendly.
Conclusion
The writer very enjoyed when made a conversation with native speakers. In
the conversation with native speakers we concluded that most of foreigner who
came to Lombok island was so kind and friendly. Then I asked them about what do
you like most from lombok?, and I found unexpected answer, they said that beside
the bautifuul view in Lombok they also love people in Lombok because people in
Lombok were so kind and friendly.
