Adjustable 84' to 88' racking board with fingers for 212 stand of 5 V2" drill
pipe and 10 stands of 8" drill collars complete with working platform floor
slab and 4" high handrails. Full length ladder assembly, complete with a
safety climbing station. Leg mounted deadline anchor with 100,000 lb,
deadline load with brass for drill line size. 5" 5,000# WP stand pipe with
75' rotary hoses, 4" 5,000# WP valve located at the rig floor, 2" 5,000#
WP valve located below the 4" 5,000# valve. (1) mud gauge 0 to 7500
PSI.

The substructure has a 30' working floor height, a rotary capacity of
1,000,000 lb and a setback capacity of 800,000 lb. Mast will raise in 8-10

be supplied, mounted and interconnected for a complete and operational

All necessary 110 for the draw works and topdrive control. All
interconnect, wiring, installation is provided with coordination between

2 The DriiiAssist" system is a peer-to-peer PC based system with direct


interface to remote 10 via ETHERNET communication protocols.

The system is capable of storing rig operations for 30 days on a hard


drive. This data is logged automatically every 1 second and can be
transferred to other medium, such as a CD for external storage. The PC's
will consist of:
PC with Intel Pentium i7 or better Processor

4GB Dual Channel or better SDRAM
PCI Graphics Card 256MB or better
One TB or better internal storage

3 DriiiAssistTM System

DriiiAssist' is one of the most advanced and Integrated Automatic Drilling


& Traveling Block Safety Systems available today. It utilizes PLC and Touch
screen Control Technology with software designed to optimize drilling
control and drilling safety, complete with reliable sensors and control
interfaces. Normal steady drilling functions carried out by the Driller can be
performed by the DriiiAssistTM with far more precision, consistency, and
safety, due to the fact that all related drilling variables are integrated and
interacting simultaneously,
The DriiiAssistTM System can be installed on Drawworks with AC Drives
ONLY and provides (3) important functions related to drill penetration and
block movement: Autodrilling, Kinetic Energy Monitoring and Crown
Block/Floor protection.
AUTO DRILLER FUNCTIONS

The DriiiAssistTM is designed to ensure continuous drill penetration by


automatically controlling the WOB (Weight On Bit), ROP (Rate Of
Penetration) and/or Differential Pressure (Delta-P).
Interface with the Driller is via dual color integrated touchscreen
computers and includes an intuitive, easy to use HMI (Human Machine
Interface). All aspects of usage and configuration of the DrDriiiAssistTMan
be carried out at the display, as well as calibration of the various sensor
interfaces.
The main mode of operation of the DrDriiiAssistTMs "WOB Mode" where it
automatically controls the selected Target WOB to ensure continuous
drilling penetration. In unconsolidated formations, a secondary mode of
the DriiiAssistTM, "ROP Mode", allows a continuous drill rate to be selected
by the driller, which can also be limited by W013. A tertiary mode of
drilling is also included incorporating differential pressure or Delta-P
control for assistance in directional drilling. In all operational modes a
maximum ROP, WOB and/or Delta-P limit can be set in order to prevent
damage to the well or the equipment.
Block movement, and thus ROP, is detected via a Drawworks Mounted
Encoder, and the Total Weight/WOB is obtained from the Weight Indicator
system or the hook-load sensor.

4 Kinetic Energy Monitoring Functions

Through downward motion of the traveling block, the DriiiAssistTM works


in parallel with the Driller's joystick control. The system continuously
monitors the position, downward speed and weight hanging on the block,
thus the block's Kinetic Energy, and by comparing this to the braking
torque/force available will effectively act as a de-acceleration of the drum
speed and as a floor saver. The drum speed de-acceleration override
command is initially applied by the system if it fails to be brought in by the
Driller, and secondarily the mechanical brake will be applied to
automatically stop the elevator above the drill floor as detected by the Low
Proximity sensor.

5 Crown Block Saver Function

Through upward motion of the traveling block, the DriiiAssistTM


continuously monitors the position and upward speed of the block. The
DriiiAssistTM works in parallel with the High Proximity sensor and the
Driller's joystick control to de-accelerate the drum speed; thus ensuring
the traveling block does not collide with the crown. Much in the same way
as the downwards motion Kinetic Energy functions does, de-acceleration is
initially applied by the system to slow the block before the coming to a
complete stop. This ensures that the wirelines do not 'jump' the pulleys.
6 System Configuration

The DriiiAssistTM System is configured generally with the following


components:
(1). Stainless Steel Console
The console is a wraparound design allowing room for the Drillers Chair to
slide in via a flush-mounted track laid into the driller's house floor.
The left side of the console is reserved for the TopDrive controls which will
be provided by the TopDrive manufacturer. The console left section is
delivered to the TopDrive manufacturer's facility for controls installation.
The TopDrive manufacturer will also be responsible for connecting their
controls and associated sub-panels into the TopDrive CIP which will be
mounted in the driller's house.
The right side of the console is reserved for the drawworks control
switches and is included in the system.
The center section if for hydraulic gauge mounting and provides a level of
redundancy and added system integrity which most drillers will demand in
their systems.
Drillers Chair with dual joysticks
Dual Touchscreen Workstations.
Mounted to the left and right of the Driller, these modern touch
screens allow multi-functions and multi-tasking Display & Control
capability. The Display Screens delivers both AutoDriller functions and
Kinetic Energy/Floor & Crown Block Saver functions; as well as rig/mud
monitoring by selecting the appropriate menu. It is an intuitive and easy to
use HMI Mimic with onscreen instructions, and enables the Driller or the
technician to operate and configure the DriiiAssistTM, as well as to
calibrate the various sensor interfaces.
Data Acquisition Unit.
An Allen-Bradley Control Logix PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) based
unit will be provided which interfaces to the controls and system sensors;
as well as interface to the program for the entire system.

7 The CCTV system will include the following equipment:

camera featuring 35X optical and lOX electronic zoom, auto-focus, wide
dynamic range and light sensitivity to .08 Lux at 1/2 sec shutter. These
dome cameras will be mounted at the front yard, backyard & 45' Level or
as desired.

30ips,PoE 24VAC with Lens, 1/3", 5.5.5 -16 motorized zoom, auto iris

Supply and install, standpipe manifold and all necessary high-pressure

5''X 5000 psi wp of suitable length with clamps installed on the off-drill
side.
Complete with gooseneck, hammer union or unibolt coupling for making
up a rotary hose with the safety clamp attached. All weld type fittings.
5"x 5000psi wp manifold with connections for pressure gauge, kill line,
cellar jet line with (2) 2" X 50001b valves and (1) 5000 psi pressure gauge.

Rig pump delivery manifold shall be connected to the vibrator hoses
through a rigidly supported strainer cross.
A 5000psi working pressure gate valve on each mud delivery manifold.
From each pump delivery manifold, a suitable bleed line and valve.
Necessary anchoring arrangement of all high-pressure delivery lines.

AC VERSUS DC FOR OILFIELD USE

In terms of AC Motor Advantages:

1) Stall Torgue: (Ability to hold a loan by motor torque.) AC motor:


Continuous. DC Motor: Momentary
2) Available Torque: (Reserve Torque available for short time use.) AC
motor: 2.5 x rated. DC motor: Above rated torque generally not
available.
3) Normal Maintenance: AC motor: Bearing replacement 3-5 year intervals
normal. Winding insulation replacement if motor is abused. DC motor:
Carbon Brush replacement on a regular basis, possibly as often as
every 3 to 4 months. Regular commutator area clean up due to carbon
dust contamination. Commutator refurbishment due to copper damage
over time. Constant vigilance by the operator to watch for possible
problems. Catastrophic motor damage from internal flash over
possible.
4) Drive Technology: AC drive: Advanced motor and drive protection
circuitry. Enhanced troubleshooting aids and routines. DC drive:
Advanced drive technology, by unable to guarantee safety of DC motor
under fault conditions.
5) Drive and motor utilization: AC: Outstanding at "on rig floor"
applications due to stall capabilities and peak available torque
characteristics. Advantages include ability to use motors on direct drive
drawworks applications where the motor(s) are used in "Auto Drill"
modes. (The motor is constantly engages and can perform superior
"Weight on bit", "Rate of Penetration" and other auto-drill functions ...
No clutching-in to back ream. Drilling break routines can be custom
tuned, etc.) Motor torque characteristics provide substantial breaking
capabilities during "Tripping in to the hole" operations. Top Drive and
rotary advantages include: Make-up, break-out can be done utilizing
motor peak torque. Torsional problems (''Stick Slip'') can be controlled
due to motor I drive control and tuning. Enhanced capabilities, due to
torque holding characteristics of the motor are available for directional
drilling and "sliding" operations.

Mud Pump Operation enhancement is less evident except for the ease
of maintenance afforded by the AC motor.
