GENERAL SUDIRMAN

General Sudirman is a national hero known as the first TNI General in Indonesia.he was also a religious
leader, educator, Muhammadiyah leader, and pioneer of guerrilla warfare. He was born to an ordinary
family in purbalingga,central java,precisely in bodas,Karangjati,Rembang on January 24,1916,his father
was named Karsid Kartawiraji and his mother was named Siyem. Then, he was adopted by his uncle
named Raden Cokrosunaryo,a sub-district head, for the sake of his future,because his uncle was more
established.

When he was 7 years old, Sudirman attended an indigenous school(Hollandsch Inlandsche school),
however, After seventh years,he moved to Taman Siswa School,the following year he moved to the
Wirotomo School,because Taman Siswa is considered illegal by the Dutch.

From childhood Sudirman is know as a child who obeyed worship. He studied Islam from Kyai Haji Qahar,
When attended school in Wirotomo, he became increasingly religiously obidient thanks to the guidance
of his teacher Raden Muhammad Kholil. His classmates called as hajj, because of obidience in worship,
and Sudirman also often gave religious lectures to his friends.

Sudirman join in builded a Hizbul Wathan Organization when he was a teenager. Hizbul Wathan is the
men's scout organization belongs to Muhammadiyah,general sudirman became the leader of one of the
brances in cilacap, he also became a teacher at HIS Muhammadiyah Cilacap.

Told from one of his student sudirman is a teacher is fair and patient teacher when educated his student.
Besides being a teacher he was also active as a member of the Muhammadiyah youth group. In 1937 he
was appointed as general chairman of the Muhammadiyah youth group

In 1936, Sudirman get married with Alifah,thar used to be a his school friend, and the daughter of a batik
enterpreneur named Raden Sastroatmojo. From the marriage, Sudirman was blessed with seven
children, Ahmad Tidawono,Muhammad Teguh Bambang Tjahjadi,Taufik Effendi,Didi Prapti astuti, Didi
Sutjiati,Didi Putjiati,Titi Wahjudi Setyaningrum.

In 1944, Sudirman served as chairman of the residency council of formed by japan,this was the
beginning of Sudirman entering the military world, and asked to join the Japanes army PETA, after
graduated from army PETA education, Sudirman directly became commander of the Divisi V/Banyumas
after TKR formed. Which was finally chosen as the first and youngest Indonesian army commander.

After the Japanese occupation period ended when the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs explodes,
Sudirman lead the escape with his friends when he was held in Bogor, then he met Soekarno who asked
him to lead an army against the Japanese in Jakarta,but Sudirman refused, he chosed to remain in Kroya
and lead his army to disarm.

During the second Dutch military aggression, at that time Sudirman was sick, the condition is very
weak,because the lung is only functioned 50%. But he continued to carry out his responsibilities to lead
his forces, for seventh months he moved from one forest to another, from one mountain to another, in a
state of weakness and sick.
Because the suffered tuberculosis is getting worse, Sudirman must be treated in Rapih home Yogyakarta.
So, he rarely appeared in public. After that he was moved to Magelang in December 1949, he died on 29
January 1950 in Magelang, and burried in yhe Semaki hero gravey, Yogyakarta.

I Idolize General Sudirman because, He is the Father of the Indonesian Army, I really like the World of
Soldiers.besides that he give me motivation that at a young age we must be able to become leaders, we
must not give up even though we are sick.

there are still many of his qualities that must be imitated by today's young people.
