The Tower Challenge Lab Report

1.Asking Question:
Can you build a building with one piece paper and one piece tape and also make it stand for
15 seconds? And the height has to be 70 cms or higher.
2.Forming a Hypothesis:
I thought the building can not reach the height limit and that it was going to be a disaster for
my group because with the piece of the paper is not steady to standard it and paper is also
flappy.I think it’s going to be a disaster because you know the paper is weak to stand by itself
and we have to put tape to it to the building for it can stand,that will just make it heavier. I
should approach this challenge by writing ideas and draw out a plan and try my best.
3.Testing The Hypothesis:
When my group was doing this experiment it wasn’t go as bad as we thought because we
were working together, everything went as planned. When we were building and planning out
it was pretty bad well when we were planning out,we were arguing how to use the
paper.When we were building I was going well and working together. Then when we were
planning out and sharing it went down hall until the building. I would fix by giving everyone a
chance to say an idea and everyone to a plan out what there idea is.
4.Analyzing Results:
In our group we had three trials to do this experiment.In the first trail we spent twenty
minutes.For the second trail we spent twenty-five minutes.Then for the last trail we spent
about twenty-three minutes on it.In this experiment we had to try to get seventy
centimeters.In trail one it was about thirty centimeter.Then for the second trail it was
twenty-five centimeters and for trail three it was about thirty-five. All the trails stood tall but
the second trail didn’t.For all trails we had to make it stand for fifteen seconds and there was a
challenge and it was, if the building can stand for twenty seconds but the table is shaking.For
trail one it stood for all the all fifteen seconds and it didn’t make the challenge.For trail two, it
stood for fifteen seconds and also didn’t make the ten challenge.For the final trail, it stood for
the fifteen seconds and it also stood for seven or eight seconds for the challenge.
5.Drawing Conclusion:
My analysis doesn’t supports my thesis because the experiment went well and my analysis
was that it was going to a fail and that was impossible. But I showed myself wrong because the
building was a successful experiment and it is possible.
