1 Technical specification.

SB1000U is a fingerprint scaninig module for the fingerprint recognition engine “Smack
Finger” Ver 3.0 and its technical characteristics are as follows.

2 Software for SB1000U

2.1 Device driver

- Windows 2000/XP
The device driver for Windows 2000/XP is consist of two files : “SBUM1_0.INF” and
“SBUM1_0.sys”.
- Linux
The device driver for Linux (kernel version 2.6.x) is a file “sbum1_0.ko”.

2.2 API library

The API library for Windows (sfe.dll) is a dynamic link library and the one for Linux(sfe.so) is
a shared object.
Using API functions is described in the file “Smack Finger SDK 3.0 Specification” and
sample programs are provided also.
