At present, the design of buildings and structures is guided by traditional Performance Based Design of Structures (PBDS)
prescriptive building codes. This prescriptive approach is based on past Performance

requirements of the structure has warranted the development of Name
performance based design (PBD) concept. PBD is an approach to the Performance assessment

design of a structure to meet certain measurable or predictable
performance requirements. PBD is the practice of 'thinking and working Performance

in terms of ends rather than means', and is concerned with what a structure structures
is required to do, and not with prescribing how it is to be constructed.
The participants will be awarded with a certificate on successful Official / Postal
