Dr.Dennis C. De Paz

Vice President for Academic Affairs

Eastern Visayas State University – Main Campus

Salazar Street, Quarry District, Tacloban City

Sir:

Good day! This is to inform your good office that I, Ver S. Flores, a 4th-year BSIT
Student of EVSU – Tanauan Campus, a transferee from EVSU – Dulag Satellite
Campus, have raised my problem to your office last December 1, 2016.

My problem is that, my MATH 29 (Integral Calculus) which I have taken up from

EVSU – Dulag is only 3 units. Now, in this second semester, I am supposed to take
IT 423 (Mathematical Logic/Discrete Structures) but my MATH 29 (Pre-requisite of IT
423) is not credited in EVSU – Tanauan because the curriculum there, MATH 29
covers 5 units. So I was not able to take the said subject (IT 423) for my MATH 29 is
lacking of units. Then I am supposed to add MATH 29 to take it with 5 units. But the
registrar in our school did not allow me to add that subject because of having a
conflict in my class schedule. But as I opened up this problem to you sir Dennis,
asking if there is a remedy to add this subject, since I have noticed that the class I
am going to enrol this MATH 29 is not only in one section but two sections having
the same instructor. I have asked you if it is okay to enrol the subject in two different
sections (BSCE 2A & 2B) just to fit in with my class schedule. And you have said that
it is okay, something like I am floating. Then I also asked if I can take IT 423 and
MATH 29 at the same time (this semester) even though MATH 29 is pre-requisite of
IT 423 for consideration that I am a graduating student. And yes is your answer. But
there is another problem. The registrar in our school do not consider me as a
graduating student unless my PHYSICS 12 (Physics I) and my PHYSICS 14
(Physics II) which I have taken up in EVSU – Dulag be credited by our dean
(Engineering Department) in EVSU – Tanauan because those subjects, PHYSICS
12 is Physics 2 and PHYSICS 14 is Physics 4. Though it all have the same number
of units, it is not credited for having different descriptive title. But I think the scope of
Physics I and Physics 2 is the same (Mechanics) and the scope of Physics II and
Physics 4 is also the same (Fluids, Heat, Electricity & Magnetism, Light & Optics).
I am giving this information to ask for help and request from your office a note that
will allow me to add the subject MATH 29 in two different sections and to take IT 423
at the same time in consideration that I am a graduating student by also having a
note from your office that my Physics subjects be credited. May I request also a note
from your office to our registrar to accept me to add those subjects because the last
schedule for adding is already gone (Nov.29, Dec. 1 and Dec. 2). I have attached
some documents that may help to explain regarding this matter.

Looking forward for the necessary actions. Thank you and God bless!

Respectfully yours,

Ver S. Flores
