With this document, I´m writing you in order to express you my growing concern
due to the current situation of our planet, every day our environment is affected in
greater volume due to the high impact generated by the use of the technology, a lot
of this impacts are generated by the extraction processes of the raw materials
required for the proper functioning of the technological devices, due to the rapid
advancement of the technology this devices become obsolete in a short time,
some materials from this devices can be used recycling for other uses but others
materials required a final disposition, in the past the people use the paper notes to
write the telephone numbers and some important things that they should
remember, in the morning the alarms clocks awakened the nation to work , actually
the cell phone supply this needs and some others, every day we find in the stores
a new offers of technological devices that generate a new different effects in the
environment, it’s very important and extremely necessary to raise awareness in
today's society of the effects of the excessive use of technology, otherwise we will
arrive to the near future in which will not have suitable areas for the final disposal
of the technological waste, an our children will be walk over this waste, we are
going to leave them a polluted planet with scarce resources, we need to start a
reforestations programs, use the responsible and friendly technologies with the
environment.

Actually our planet is suffering an excessive heating, especially in the tropical
zones, this heating its leads to strong droughts that cause alterations in the normal
cycles of the agricultural activities, the rainy seasons have changed and this
modified the sowing and harvesting cycles, the niña and the niño phenomenon
they are so strong actually because the natural cycle has modified by the heating
of the ocean water, but what is causing this alterations in the normal cycles, simply,
us, we are abusing our natural resources, we are abusing from the technology, in
our eagerness to obtain greater confort we are abusing of the technological
devices, but this devices was made with materials obtained from the oil derivates,
from the mining, and others different materials that are not biodegradable,
materials that require a lot of process to be degraded, this generate direct pollution
and the production process of this devices generate a lot of pollutions for the
environment, I can’t say that the technological advances are a bad thing because
we can see the form that the technology help persons to cure their diseases, but
we need to be more responsible with the use of the technology.

What do you think will happen if current trends of technology development and
consumerism continue?

From my point of view, if the consumerism of the technology still growing like
actually is doing, it’s very probably that the need to produce technological devices
increase activities like mining, increase the need of oil derivates, increasing the
global warming, decrease the natural resources and finally will be live immersed in
a sea of technological waste that we will not be able to dispose, increasing the
pollution in our planet.

Write your advice on how we can contribute to the improvement of current
environmental crisis.

It is very important that the governments and the people take al eco-friendly
attitude, decreasing the technology use or doing in a responsible use, must be
supported the new alternative energies, recycling, re using and reforesting, the
people need be guided for a new lifestyles, oriented for a new consumerism
tendencies.
