Stress an evil that we all encounter at a point in our lives, whether it’s at school, at work, in

a relationship, or simply making a small decision like what to wear or where to go out for

dinner. The point is, we all suffer from stress. It is a mental and emotional state of tension

resulting from and adverse or a demanding situation. Over the years there have been many

techniques and tools focusing on how to deal with stress. From relaxation techniques such

as a day at the spa, doing yoga, to crazy techniques like the fidget spinner. [Introduce

images].

Today, I want to focus on the role that music plays in reducing stress. The power of music,

this sound that knows how to manage our emotions and make us forget our problems. From

classical music to Hip Hop and those in between. So, how is music the ultimate stress

reducing weapon? [Introduce music images and question sign image]

Music is known to be a universal stress reducer and just as stress it has a significant effect in

our emotions and our bodies. Music has this way of manipulating what we feel and how we

feel. Faster music can make you more energized and alert while upbeat music can make you

see the life in another way. The slow tempo music can help you focus and relax and release

all the stress you have been feeling during the day.
When we listen to music, we require a certain amount of concentration and we have to let

carried away by sound and the melody. Each individual likes his or her own type of music.

One great thing about music is that we all listen to it, we all have our favorite song that

makes us feel safe and calm when we listen to it. But it is not only the conventional type of

music we know there are also recorded sounds from nature such as, rain falling, water

flowing and many other sounds that can help us reduce stress. Music fight stress by

reducing the level of cortisol in our bodies, cortisol is the hormone released by stress. So,

when we listen to music our levels of cortisol reduce, and our brain and body start to

process the melody we are listening and put us in a calm state. [add sound and images]

Music helps the body and the brain to return to a non-stress state. So, Music has properties

that can be beneficial for reducing stress. It relaxes our brain and manages our emotions. It

takes us far away in our mind and helps us to relax and be focus. And the think that makes

music the ultimate weapon for reducing stress compared to the other stress reducing

techniques is that music is effortless. We do not require any time of physical ability to listen

to music and we can listen to it whenever and wherever we want.
