INTRODUCTION

An evaluation was conducted on the multimedia project created by the Multimedia Experts

for the topic, “Introduction to Verbs”. This lesson was created for primary school students. Two

evaluators were chosen from the current cohort of MSc Instructional Design and Technology

program. Each evaluator was provided with a link to project and a copy of the Peer Evaluation Project

Rubric obtained from the course assignment documents.

Evaluators were asked to rate the quality of the project based on the following areas:

1. Storyboard or Planning Sheet

2. Organization of Content

3. Originality

4. Copyright and Documentation

5. Format and Platform Transferability

6. Subject Knowledge

7. Graphical Design

8. Mechanics

9. Screen Design

10. Use of Enhancements

Storyboard 4 4 The storyboard was

based on the

into the storyboard.

Platform useable on my PC;
Transferability however, some of
the buttons took a
while to select for
me I had to be
clicking multiple
times.
Subject Knowledge 4 4 It was evident that

Overall comments: I found the lesson to be very interactive and relatable for the

target audience. I think more colours could have been used for some of the slides making it a

bit livelier for the students. The tone and pace of the narration were good and I like the song

it was very catching, which sounded very original. Overall, it was a good lesson. Good job!

My Response

I agree with Keshann that improvement is need in the areas she stated. After her

evaluation, I went through our project again, keeping in mind what she addressed. Our target

audience is children and children loves high coloured graphics. The outlook of our

multimedia was very vague. Animation of the navigation and a good mix of colours would be

needed.

Score
Storyboard 4 4 The story board was
Planning easy to follow and
understand.
Organization of 4 4 The storyboard was
Content properly organized
and the content was
accurate to the end.
Originality 4 3 The project for the
most part, wasn’t
completely original.

I like that they were

able use real life
children for the
explanation,
however it questions
the university policy
on using children for
project.
Copyright and 4 2 The copyright was
documentation found on the story
board but not on the
project. No proof of
the sources.

The resources was at

end of the project
Format and 4 3 I used my laptop
Platform with windows
Transferability capabilities, and it
function properly
Subject Knowledge 4 4 Content area was
well thought out and
properly executed
Graphic design 4 3 The graphs used was
sharped and was
very visible.

One error is the fact

that the use of
children. You need
to have a form
indicating
permission was
given to use the
children. Kindly
remember the
university policy.
Mechanics 4 3 Grammar and
Mechanics were on
point for the most
part.
Screen Design and 4 3 Screen layout
Layout remain the same for
the variation of the
project, little to no
transition was made.

Use of 4 3 The narration used is

Enhancements enlightening and it
gives learners the
will to want to
participate.

In some instances,
however voice was a
bit low so it wasn’t
too clear, but all in
all it served its
purpose.

Overall comments:

Overall the project, met the objective set out, with the changes that were pointed out, the

project can sincerely be very impactful and useful.

My Response
This evaluator seemed to misunderstand most of the elements used. Our videos,

images, songs and audio were all original. The music for the song was found on youtube,

which had free royalties and no copyright infringement for that particular sound track. The

words and the tune was composed and sang by myself. The images used were that of

Sharlene Sitahal-Kistow son, of which she had his father signing to give permission. The

parents of the children in the video all gave a signed permission for the children to

participate. The content would however not be original as we all know that the topic “verbs”

was established before we were even born.

As other evaluators stated and that I agreed with were that of the screen layout and

design could be enhanced to be more appealing to the target audience.

OVERALL RESPONSE

The feedback from the evaluators were acknowledged and were well received. The evaluators

provided a different perspective and was objective in their comments.

The project was ideal for the targeted group. It guided learners through Gagne’s Nine Events

of Instruction starting with providing call to attention to ending with activities to extend and transfer

knowledge learnt. The images used would be relatable to students were in school uniform was used in

the lesson. This was to assist learners in relating to the character more easily. “Just enough” content

was presented as to not overwhelm the learner. The navigation buttons allow learners to move

forward and backward through the lesson.

NECESSARY CHANGES

Screen Design and Layout and Graphic Design – Different colours and animation to be added

to enhance the and capture the attention of the target audience (children). The use of vibrant

colours or pictures would be used.

Copyright and Documentation – Although this was present in the program, we would make

sure that it is noticeable and understandable to all who peruse our program.
