Reflection Paper
Before taking this course, I was not familiar with all of the Microsoft office applications. The
most affective application was on excel/spreadsheet. The knowledge I gained from this specific
module coincides with object #8. I had absolutely no idea how to even begin using excel, which
worried me as I knew I would be starting an internship in the finance industry. With everything
that this module covered, I can easily state that I am fluent in excel and creating spreadsheets.
When I began my internship, I definitely credited this course, and even looked back a few times
to ensure that I was processing everything correctly. The most intriguing aspect of spreadsheets
was when I learned some formulas such as =A1+A2+A3, which will find the sum for those cells.
Being that my internship is in insurance/sales, I do use that formula often. In module 6, the word
exercises were incredibly tedious and time consuming. At one point I thought I wasn’t going to
have enough time in the week to finish them but I pulled through, and actually learned quite a
bit. I learned the most from objective 3, which of course took me the longest. It was hard for me
because it was similar to using excel properties due to the tables etc.
Secondly, as stated in objective 11, I thought the Weebly profile/portfolio was really fun and
exciting to do. Although a lot of the projects were tedious, I learned quite a bit from them. Due to
this being a semester long accumulation of projects and assignments, it was easily the hardest
objective to have accomplished. But, I did it while enjoying what I was doing because I learned
about my capabilities and the obstacles I need(ed) to work on more regarding technology. As the
weeks went on, I became incredibly familiar and comfortable with Weebly, I don’t remember

what week that it happened, but I had stopped using references offered through canvas modules
Finally, as discussed in objective 1, I can most definitely approach computer-based tasks with
much more confidence. The last few modules really tested my computer abilities, those modules
included the infographic, digital photo editing and then the digital storytelling and screencasting.
I have always had great difficulty being creative, and using computer software. This is where my
abilities were definitely tested because I had to combine the two. Overall, it was satisfying to see
the end result of each project, as well as encouraging when it was time to move on to the next
module. I do also think that these creative computer skills will help me in my internship right
now because we are constantly identifying ways to be productive and creative with computer
software. Meaning, if I ever have to do a presentation, I will know to follow C.R.A.P., if I ever
have to do an advertisement, I will know to follow the digital photo editing software, etc. This
course has been incredibly helpful, while offering a lot of resources that I was not aware of
