The following is a list of Local Coachella Valley Scholarships. Note that some scholarships contain an asterisk (*): these
scholarships require supplemental applications and/or documents, which will be provided to you after completing the Google
Form containing the list of scholarships. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to complete the supplemental applications; make sure you
do so in a timely manner. Scholarships without the asterisk (*) do not require supplemental applications or documents and will
be submitted to the Scholarship Sponsor on your behalf.
Scholarships AND the amounts listed are expected—some scholarships may not continue to be offered, and actual amounts
may vary, depending on the donors.
Eligibility:
A. Minimum GPA of 3.25 and a minimum of 930 on the SAT
B. Must demonstrate financial need
C. Must have community service experience/have taken part in extracurricular activities
D. Exceptional personal character/leadership qualities
E. Must complete essay (300-word max)
F. Three (3) letters of recommendation
G. In addition to this packet, you must fill out a separate application required by the donor
Eligibility:
A. Must complete an essay required by the ACLU committee
B. Student must plan to attend a two or four-year college or university or vocational/trade school in the U.S.
Eligibility:
A. Must be a U.S. Citizen
B. Must be a direct relative of a veteran who served during a period of armed conflict (WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam,
Panama, Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq service time)
→Documentation MUST be included in packet
C. Relatives include: grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, or uncles.
Proof of Honorable Discharge is required. Applications will NOT be considered without it
D. Must have minimum GPA of 2.5
E. Must have demonstrated good character, leadership skills, and involvement in school and community
F. Must demonstrate financial need
G. Interview; a panel of American Legion members will interview candidates
Scholarship Amount: One (1) $1,000 renewable award for four (4) years or until a Bachelor’s Degree is awarded

4. AMERICAN PUBLIC WORKS ASSOCIATION (APWA)*
Eligibility:
A. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
B. Applicant must plan to pursue a career in Civil Engineering or the Public Works field
-University/College Qualifying Majors: Transportation Engineering, Computer Science, Construction Management,
Environmental Studies, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, etc.
-Trade/Technical School Qualifying Majors: Landscape Design, Construction, Computer Technician, Fleet/Heavy
Equipment Mechanic, Public Works, Surveying, etc.
C. Applicant must commit to 4 hours to promote APWA, serve the community, and advocate scholarship program
Eligibility:
A. Must be of Hispanic descent
B. Planning a career in pediatrics
C. Must plan to attend a two or four-year college or university
D. Minimum GPA 3.0
Eligibility:
A. Maintained at least a 2.0 GPA throughout high school
B. Must be a resident of California
C. Must intend to major in the field of business administration or education (i.e. accounting, finance,
marketing/counseling, teaching)
D. Must complete separate application
Eligibility:
A. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
B. Must plan to attend a two or four-year college or university or vocational school
C. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
D. Must fill out separate application required by the donor
E. If selected, must attend an interview

B. Must plan to attend a two-year college or four-year university
C. Must be pursuing a career in an education related field (i.e., teacher, counselor, coach)

9. CASTRO FALK SCHOLARSHIP FUND OF THE COACHELLA VALLEY (THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION)*
Eligibility:
A. Student must complete separate application
B. Must submit two (2) letters of recommendation
C. Must include unofficial transcript
D. Must include copy of FAFSA’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) page
Eligibility:
A. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA
B. Must have played on the CCHS golf team for at least two years
C. Must plan to attend a two-year college or four-year university
D. Must complete a short essay on what golfing at CCHS has meant to student
Eligibility:
A. Minimum GPA of 2.5
B. Must have demonstrated involvement within our school and in the community
C. Must participate in Lion’s Pride Fundraisers (i.e. Softball Tournament, graduation, water sales, etc.)

13. CATHEDRAL CITY ROTARY CLUB
Eligibility:
A. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
B. Must demonstrate financial need
C. Must have demonstrated good character, leadership skills, and involvement in school and community
D. Rotary service is favorable
E. Rotary Club members and their immediate family members are eligible
Eligibility:
A. Must have attended Cielo Vista Charter for at least 3 years and graduated from 6th grade at Cielo Vista Charter
B. Must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above
C. Must provide an official transcript
D. Must complete additional application requested by donor
Eligibility:
A. Must be a resident of Cathedral City
B. Must display a record of excessive involvement in community service activities and volunteer work
C. Must plan to attend a two-year college, four-year university, or a vocational/technical institution
Eligibility:
A. Must plan to major in a field related to community or public services, fire/police services, education/teaching,
government/economics, political science, law, etc.
B. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
C. Must plan to attend a two or four-year college or university or a vocational/technical institution
D. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
E. Must demonstrate good character and involvement in school and community activities
F. Must demonstrate financial need
Eligibility:
A. Must be a FEMALE planning to attend a four-year university
B. Must have a minimum GPA of 4.0 and have taken AP/IB classes
C. Must be in the top 10% of the senior class
D. Must be a U.S. Citizen
E. Must demonstrate leadership in school and/or community

F. Scholarship, citizenship, and financial need are considered
G. Must be interviewed by a panel of CVAP members
Eligibility:
A. MUST be majoring in an agriculture related field
→Related fields include: Agriculture & Society, Animal Science, Biology, Environmental Science, Genetics,
Microbiology, Nutritional Science, etc.
B. In addition to majoring in an agriculture related field, student must plan to pursue a career in agriculture
C. Must have an overall GPA of 3.0
D. Must complete additional application, including a personal essay that outlines students’ interest in a career in
agriculture
Eligibility:
A. Candidates must be pursuing an art or design related degree
B. Student must enroll in a visual arts program in college, university, or art school
C. MUST SUBMIT at least two (2) pieces of artwork to DAC in person
D. In addition to this packet, you must fill out a separate application required by the donor
Eligibility:
A. Must plan to attend a two-year college or four-year university
B. Must complete separate application provided by donor
C. Must include an OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT

22. DESERT HOSPITALITY ACCOUNTANT’S ASSOCIATION*
Eligibility:
A. Applicant must be planning to study accounting
B. Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
C. Applicant must download and complete application provided by donor

B. Must provide copies of transcripts and FAFSA’S Expected Family Contribution (EFC) page
C. Must complete personal essay required by donor (maximum 500 words)

A. Must be a member of the band program
B. Must plan to study music at a two or four-year college or university

A. Must be of Mexican ancestry
B. Must have earned at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA for all four years
C. Must be pursuing bachelor or associate’s degree at an accredited college, university, or academic institution
D. Must demonstrate qualities of good citizenship, leadership, and financial need
E. In addition to this packet, you will be required to fill out a separate application ONLINE

A. Must be of Filipino descent
B. Must plan to attend a two-year college, four-year university, or vocational/technical institution
C. Must have an above average GPA

32. MUSEUM ASSOCIATES COUNCIL W/ PATHWAYS*
Eligibility:
A. Must be pursuing a visual or performing arts or arts education major or minor
B. You or your parents must have been permanent residents of the Coachella Valley for the past three consecutive years
C. Must have attended a California High school for a minimum of three consecutive years
D. Must have applied for the FAFSA
E. Must demonstrate financial need
F. Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA
Eligibility:
A. Must be a U.S. Citizen
B. Must belong to a military affiliated organization (i.e. Sea Cadets, JROTC, etc.), OR a dependent or direct descendant of
an active, reserve, retired or honorably discharged member of military service (must attach proof, i.e. DD214)
C. Can provide evidence of entering an accredited college/university in 2019 as a full-time student
D. Are committed to semi-annually update the Navy League of your progress and accomplishments
Eligibility:
A. Must plan to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited two-year college or four-year university
B. Students DO NOT have to be African-American to apply
C. Must demonstrate financial need
D. Must have demonstrated good character, leadership skills, and involvement in school and community activities
Scholarship Amount:
A $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to students who plan to attend a four-year university, renewable for four (4) years
A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to students who plan to attend a two-year college, renewable for two (2) years
Eligibility:
A. Must have graduated from Nellie N. Coffman Middle School
B. Must plan to attend a two-year college, four-year university, or a vocational institution
C. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
D. Must have demonstrated good character, leadership skills, and involvement in school and community activities
Eligibility:
A. Must have minimum 3.0 GPA
B. Must plan on studying law enforcement or a field related to law enforcement, such as Criminal Justice, Crime Scene
Investigation, Forensic Science, Law, Criminology, or Political Science

C. Must compose a one-page essay on the impact police officers and employees in law inforcement have on our lives and
in society
D. Must complete FAFSA
E. Must plan on attending a 2 or 4-year college/university
F. Must show proof of enrollment in a 2 or 4-year college/university by providing class schedule
Eligibility:
A. Must plan to attend a two-year college, four-year university, or a vocational/technical institution
B. Must be in JROTC for a minimum of three (3) years
C. Must have attained Academic Excellence and Leadership positions
Eligibility:
A. Must be pursuing a career in a field related to History, Political Science, or Library Science
B. Must plan to attend a two or four-year college or university, or vocational/technical institution
C. Must demonstrate high academic achievement
D. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
E. Must have demonstrated good character, leadership skills, and involvement in school and community activities
F. Must demonstrate financial need
G. Must interview with panel
Eligibility:
A. Must be pursuing a career in a field related to the Hospitality Industry or the Culinary Arts
B. Requirements are the same as “Legacy of Learning” Award (Award A)
Eligibility:
A. Must be a child or grandchild of an employee of PSUSD
B. Must plan on attending a two or four-year college or university or trade school
C. Must have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills
D. Must complete additional application required by PSLA

40. PALM SPRINGS LIONS CLUB CITIZENSHIP AWARD
Eligibility:
A. Must have minimum 3.5 GPA
B. Must display leadership, outstanding citizenship, and exceptional service to school and community
C. Male and Female recipients selected
Eligibility:
A. Must plan on attending a two or four-year college, university, or trade school
B. Must plan to major in field of Architecture, Architecture Preservation, Planning, Art, Environmental Studies, or
Interior and Landscape Design
Eligibility:
A. Must have parents who are members of the Palm Springs Teachers Association
B. Must plan to attend a four-year university
Eligibility:
A. You do NOT have to be female
B. Must be pursuing a degree in the fields of Communications, Journalism, English, Performing Arts, Public Relations,
Writing, Film, Radio/Television Broadcasting, Allied Media, Music, or related fields
C. Must plan to attend a two or four-year college or university, or community college
D. Must demonstrate financial need
E. Additional application required by donor
Eligibility:
A. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
B. Must have been a Cathedral City High School student during junior and senior years
C. Must have a disability in at least one of these areas: learning, mobility, vision, or hearing (documented by IEP, 504 Plan,
or physician letter). Not glasses or asthma!
D. Must have demonstrated good character
E. Must have participated in school or community activities that demonstrate motivation to succeed
F. Must plan to attend a two or four-year college or university, or a vocational/technical institution

45. RUTH SCHROFF SCHOLARSHIP FUND (THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION)*
Eligibility:
A. Must be African-American or Hispanic/Latino
B. Must complete separate application from The Community Foundation
Eligibility:
A. Must identify as LGBTQI
B. Allies who have demonstrated a MULTITUDE of support and involvement in the LGBTQI community may apply (awards
are extremely limited)
C. Must demonstrate active participation, dedication and initiative in fostering a positive self-image among other LGBTQI
youth (i.e., participation in a gay-straight alliance, events sponsored by Safe Schools, and in the LGBTQI community)
D. Must complete separate application/essay required by donor
Eligibility:
A. MUST be a choir student AND have been a member of the Choral Music Department at CCHS for all four (4) years
B. Must have set a good example as a choir student, section leader, and/or soloist
C. Must plan to attend a two or four-year college or university or a vocational/technical institution
