The last thank you to the organizer’s of this “English Club 10th Anniversary”, and also for our sister’s and
brother’s … thank you for being such a great ’mentor’ for us.

First of all, let us praise to the almighty Allah swt because of his blessing we are able to come here to
attend on this great moment of “ English Club 10th Anniversary”

Peace be upon to our lovely prophet Muhammad who guided us from the darkness into the brightness.

Ladies and gentlemen

 let us introduce ourself my name is Farihatu aini from ten accounting five and you? My name is
Zahrotunnisa from ten office and management 1.

In this occasion. We standing here to deliver a speech under the title “precious heritage from the old
days”

Do you know how long Indonesia have been independent?

Indonesia has been independent for 73 years. Then what have been achieved by the Indonesia nation
for 73 years of independence.

Indonesia has experienced many change like an increasing economy, a lot of development that is
increasingly being intensified and etc. But this development are not matched by the character education
of every citizen. This can be proven by the many practice of ( corruption, collusion, nepotism) political
and cultural issues that divide Indonesia people. This is pitiful considering uneasy struggle that the
nation’s heroes had to go through.

Do you still remember : Palapa oath which was carried out by Patih Gadjah Mada in the Majapahit era?
Exactly! Gadjah Mada Said "Lamun huwus kalah nusantara isun amukti palapa, lamun kalah ring Gurun,
ring Seran, Tañjung Pura, ring Haru, ring Pahang, Dompo, ring Bali, Sunda, Palembang, Tumasik, samana
isun amukti palapa".; In the oath, Gadjah Mada stated that he would unite the archipelago under the
Majapahit kingdom which can be called the forerunner of the Unitary State of The Republic of Indonesia.

The question is? Is the spirit of Indonesian unity as in the Majapahit era now? We better return the
answer to our self , considering the importance of nationalism and unity

“why the sense of nationalism and the spirit of Indonesia unity are very important especially nowadays?
First,

Avoid corruption and different ideology. Believe it or not supervisors of goverment agencien in the
financial sector beside have to be profecional, they are also given a lesson about the spirit of nationalism
to avoid cases of corruption and different ideologies attack.

Second,

Avoid promiscuity, young people like us have an unstable psychological condition so we can easily
affected with negative things. if it’s not banlanced with the spirit of nationalism.

Third,

Increasing Tolerance, intolerance is one of the causes og disunity such as the recent acts of terrorism
that happen in several churches in Surabaya, is java province.

If the spirit of our nationalism is as strong as our foremother before independence when the heroes
struggle with high enthusiasm to unite the Indonesian state into an independent state. Is a beautiful
victory isn’t it

After we find out the big influence of nationalism, you might be wondering, is nationalism exist? If it’s
true how to make it happen? Does anyone know it? Okay we will tell you how to make it happen.

First,

Preserving Culture, One of the effects of globalization is the large number of western culture that
entering our country. This can threaten a destruction of Indonesia culture itself. To resolve this, the
nation’s next generation must preserve Indonesian culture as a form of nationalism.

Second,

Maintain noble Values, Maintaining these noble values means that we are proud and also love the
values taught by our ancestors. The noble values glorified by the Indonesian people have always been
help each other, mutual cooperation, friendliness, and so on. Maintaining these noble values means that
we are proud and also love the values that our ancestors instilled. For example such as participating in
mutual cooperation activities, helping each other, and other good things.

Third,

Creating Religious harmony. Indonesia’s population consists of various beliefs. One of the things we can
do is create inter-religious harmony. Like not disturbing people who are worshiping, make friends
without distinguishing religion, and many things that reflect peace.

hopefully we can learn from these examples so that we can show an attitude of nationalism for our
nation. do small things first for the environment around us, because all the big things always start with
small steps .

before closing, let's review what we discussed. Does anyone remember? we discuss various issues about
the weakness of nationalism in the age of progress. we also compare it to the era of the Majapahit
kingdom which unfortunately is inversely proportional. therefore we need to know "why is nationalism
important?" and how to make it happen. we learn a lot today. Let’s give big applause for us.
