Rationale
Professional development is vital in personal or in an organization. This plan serves as my weapon to develop my
knowledge and skills in teaching. In education, ongoing professional development is especially important as educators are
often isolated from developments in their disciplines, as well as from their colleagues, spending most of their time behind the
doors of their classrooms.

A teacher is a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates the effects of her choices and actions on others and who
actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally.
School system today is charged with addressing ever-increasing demands such as the strategies to be used by the
teacher in the classroom. As an Educator, we must keep on being acquainted of the important advances that are occurring in
education and this is needed to produce outstanding educational results for pupils.

Adequate teacher learning and practice time should be considered. Time needs to be built into the system to allow
teachers to collaborate, plan, and reflect as they learn. A differentiated approach to professional development delivery that
may include, analysis of pupil’s work, mentoring of co-teachers will also meet the needs of teachers.

Supposedly, teachers are the first professionals that pupils will contact when they seek counseling for their problem,
and as a teacher, this should be continuously nurture not only the professional skills of the faculty but considerable attention
should also be given to the teachers’ in handling classes. This is where professional development comes in.

Reflection
According to Kauffman, et. al. 2006, learning takes place when students
are in safe environment. Classroom management is an important component in
any educational setting. It includes the various qualities of student learning that
take account of the expectations, motivations, and behavior of the students.
Improving my classroom management means I am constantly working to
create a learning environment in which all my students feel safe and
comfortable.
To make my classroom challenging and safe environment, I will always
actively engage my pupils through the implementation of the curriculum. I
need to establish good working relations with my pupils by having one on one
interaction in the class in order to get to know more with them. Giving group
works to my pupils is also the best way to improve and develop their strong
relationship with their classmates and at the same time helps them to develop
and improve their participations in the class. Involving pupils in implementing
house rules also will help to maintain a good classroom atmosphere. We
should always remind our pupils that “We are family” and a happy family
respect each other at all times. I expect my student to enjoy their rights and
freedom for as long as they do not interfere with learning. I created classroom
procedure for them to develop a safe and good relationship with their
classmates and to the teacher. They should always follow the rules and
procedures to avoid conflict and problem.
With this Classroom Management Plan, I will be guided on how will I
create my classroom a safe , friendly and conducive for my students to learn.
