Lesson Plan

Standard 1)

Standard 1: Learner Development

Standard 5: Application of Content

I am using these two learning standards for this assignment. Standard one will be implemented

by having very basic content displayed in, all learning styles can grasp the information. Standard

five will be taking the implemented by taking the basic content and having the students perform

it to the best of their abilities under strict supervision.

Objective- To form a basic understanding of health and fitness as well as make it

enjoyable for all students. Give basic knowledge for energy systems and implement them in a

workout of the day. There will do a handout as well as a demonstration for each of the exercises,

there will also be many verbal cues throughout the class.

Materials- Paper handouts for each student, white board, indoor or outdoor track,

dumbbells or kettlebells, pictures for each station the students will be doing exercises at, students

will need gym clothes I.E. gym shoes, shirt, shorts. Some discussion questions; What time
domain is the Phosphagen system used? What time domain is the glycogen system used? What

time domain is the oxidative system used?

Lesson plan- 0-10 minutes students will change into proper gym attire. 10-20 minutes

students will perform a monostructual exercise to prepare for the workout ahead I.E. running,

bike, row, jumping rope. 20-35 minutes class will form a school circle with enough room to

perform stretches while I give a brief explanation on the diagram written on the whiteboard. The

model listed will be the 3 metabolic pathways one’s body goes through when doing exercise.

35- 45 minutes I will brief the workout of the day, students will need to get in groups of 3. 45-75

minutes class will perform the workout. 75-90 minutes class will change and stretch before being

released from class.

Students will have 30 minutes to get as many rounds as possible

400m run/ jog/ walk (1 student)

Max goblet squat/ weighted/ unweighted/ to box (1 student)

While one student is running the other two will perform the next two exercises.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoflPzSrdKc (Plank)

75-90 minutes

Same stretches as beginning of class and changing out of gym clothes.

Instructional material will be off this diagram

Reflection- I believe that my lesson plan has good direction but implementing Blooms’s

Taxonomy seems rather difficult on paper. Having material in a curriculum would be helpful for

what kind of instruction is necessary. While observing for 10 hours this semester most of the

physical education teachers had free range of curriculum if they were giving the kids direction

and keeping them active. I would like to be able to give knowledge in how students can exercise

outside of class in my instructions.
