ANTI-HAZING AGREEMENT

1. This document serves to reiterate the 247th Naval Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Unit,
De La Salle University – Manila’s (247th NROTCU, DLSU-M) commitment and compliance
with the law, and the University and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s (DLS-CSB) Anti-
Hazing Policies. The 247th NROTCU, DLSU-M does not, in any way, condone acts of hazing as
specified in the law, and the DLSU-M and DLS-CSB handbooks.

2. It is understood and agreed that ALL Cadet Officer Applicants, Trainees undergoing the
Cadet Officers’ Candidacy Course (COCC), and Members of the Corps of Cadet Officers
(COCO) of the 247th NROTCU, DLSU-M, will not, with any degree, be involved in nor conspire
to any act in violation of Republic Act No. 8049 (“An Act Regulating Hazing and Other Forms
of Initiation Rites in Fraternities, Sororities, and Other Organizations and Providing Penalties
Therefor”), Section 5.3.1.22 of the De La Salle University (DLSU) Student Handbook, and
Sections 7.6.1.12 and 7.6.1.25 of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) Student
Handbook.

3. It is understood and agreed that based on Republic Act No. 8049, hazing is defined as “an
initiation rite or practice as a prerequisite for admission into membership in a fraternity, sorority
or organization by placing the recruit, neophyte or applicant in some embarrassing or humiliating
situations such as forcing him to do menial, silly, foolish and other similar tasks or activities or
otherwise subjecting him to physical or psychological suffering or injury.”

4. It is understood and agreed that ALL Cadet Officer Applicants, Trainees undergoing the
COCC and Members of the COCO, upon being complained of by those belonging to the same
organization of committing act/s in violation of the aforementioned law and student handbook
provisions, shall be subject to the due process of investigation, and be responsible for the
consequence/s of their individual act/s if found guilty.
