SERVICE AGREEMENTS
It goes without saying that once you have
purchased your pump you want it functioning
efficiently and reliably – all day, every day.

The most effective way to achieve this on a longer-term
basis is via a service agreement. This will ensure your
pumps are maintained to the highest standards, reducing
unscheduled downtime and improving reliability. This in
turn leads to a reduction in energy consumption and
running costs.
These agreements offer the same level of assurance as
you would get from continual warranty. They also spell
peace of mind and could offer 24hr call out and provide
detailed annual reports on both pump and system/
application conditions.

To achieve the perfect system balance and ensure

During commissioning we will check the pumps, the
installation, the control equipment, and the total pump

Commissioning covers a check of the pumps, the control
equipment and the total pump performance.
To get the best value for your money, we base our prices
on commissioning being undertaken in one uninterrupted
visit. This means that all equipment should be installed,
hydraulically charged and connected electrically, prior to
the arrival of the pump engineer to site.
On larger longer term projects, we can offer
pre-commissioning checks which ensure a smoother
client handover.

RE-COMMISSIONING
One aspect that has been recently highlighted as
playing a very important role in contributing to a
buildings energy use was for businesses to look at
re-commissioning a buildings’ central plant equipment
- such as the pumps - at least every five years.

Although all pumps will benefit from re-commissioning,

the following should however, be considered a priority:

Grundfos and Siniat established links when Grundfos
were asked to look into replacing a competitors
fire pumps.
Following investigations it was decided to replace the
­existing set-up with a new FM approved diesel pump.
Adding to the complexity of this project was the fact
that the pump room would need extensive pipe-work
changes plus it was located in a half-submerged
underground location in a small nature reserve,
meaning that cranes would be needed to get the old
pumps out and the new pumps in.
During site visits it became evident that the booster
set used to feed the process water to the factory was
old and Grundfos suggested an energy report might
indicate that this process could be managed much
more efficiently with a new set.
Grundfos Service completed a comprehensive site
visit and undertook a full pump audit. The results
revealed the current set-up was extremely energy
inefficient. The decision was then taken to replace
the current booster pumps with a 3-pump Grundfos
booster set that will save 60%+ energy as well as
delivering peace of mind. With the old pumps
removed and recycled the Grundfos solution was
installed and completed with the supply of a wireless
remote alarm panel.
This is yet another great example of where a complex
problem can be resolved through a bespoke
engineered solution when you chose Grundfos as your
pump supplier.

WORKSHOP REPAIRS
Grundfos Service Ltd. operates a series of regional
repair facilities throughout the UK. These workshops
are controlled from the service headquarters in Leigh,
by a dedicated team of operatives.

This system tracks, follows and reports each service
call throughout its total lifespan, it will keep you fully
informed on all actions via a comprehensive range of
reporting that is issued within 24 hours of every visit.
These reports will give you detailed data relating to all
aspects of any contact we have had. Additionally they
will state the actions undertaken, offer an explanation
of any issues that were detected and the subsequent
steps taken to resolve them, along with any additional
future recommendations.
