Course Title : Information Technology and Human Development

Credit Units : 3 units

Contact Hours : Three (3) hours per week

Pre-requisite/s : NONE
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a 3-unit course designed to introduce the benefits and threats of Information Technology to mankind. It also presents the impacts and effects of
information technology to human development as well as it include the study of ethics in information technology and morality as its dimensions for mankind’s
success.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
General Objectives:

At the end of this course, the students are expected to:


1. appreciate the importance of information technology to human development;
2. know and understand the different ethical standards of information technology;
3. embrace the teachings of the Roman Catholic church with regards to papal encyclical on the use of technology and immortality;
4. apply in their chosen career on how to inculcate to their students in the near future the strategies of maximizing the impact of information
technology to mankind.
