1.6 HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTION Health and Safety and details specific matters and procedures forthe safe operation of all SI work, these are described below. Personal Protective Equipment: Hard hats, steel toe caps, ear pretection and protective gloves will be wom at all times when in the vicinity of the rig {uring boring oF other working operations. Underground Services: all Mackintosh Probe tests point will be commenced with pipe cable locator and motorized hand auger before works commences. ‘Any uncertainty willbe reported to the Client before continuing Working Areas: Working areas will be kept as free as practical from equipment not actually in use. Protection of Others: Protection will be given where there sa rsk of injury to the general publi, other staff involved with the works. Protection wil be appropriate to the conditions and in compliance with the Specification Nuisance: Nuisance to others wil be minimised within the constraints of the project requirements. Reinstatement: The test area willbe left na tidy and workmanlike condition such that no hazard remains tothe general public. Unforeseen Circumstances: The worker are responsible for their own health, and safety as well as that of others who may be affected by their actions. ‘any difficulties should be immediately reported to the SI Contractor s Supervisor. Accidents: Minor accidents will be treated with first ald, accidents of a more serious nature wil be referred tothe nearest casualty hospital.
