INTRODUCTION
The use of plastic product has increased recently in past years. Plastic consider easier and cheaper as
compared to other material. According to central pollution control board in 2015 estimated average plastic
waste generated in India is around 24690 TPD out of which 79 %of plastic disposed by landfills and natural
environment .80% of plastic used in packaging sector. Recycling of plastic waste is value added product for
civil engineer. Plastic have numerous favourable attribute like low cost ease of manufacture versatility
imperviousness to water which have worked as boon. Plastic concrete is used in light weight concrete
production . they are used in driveway, paving and curb, walls gutter. Plastic can be divided into two majar
categories- Thermosetting , Thermoplastic. Thermosetting plastic are those once cooled and hardened
cannot return to their original shapes they are hard and durable e.g aircraft parts, tirees . Themoplastic are
those can soften upon heating and return to their original form . e.g PE, PP ,PVC .
1. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE or polyester )- sold water bottle, soft drink bottle
2. High density polyethylene - milk and juice , detergent, shampoo, medicine bottle
7. Other- plastic that may be layered or mixed with other type of plastic such as bioplastic ,
polycarbonate
LITERATURE REVIEW
Pramoad S.Patil, J.R Mali ( 2014, IJRET) – The main research of that project is to utilized recycled
concrete as a coarse aggregate for the production of concrete. Plastic aggregate in concrete is replaceable
from 20mm coarse aggregate. 48 specimen six beam and cylinder each for M-20 grade of concrete with the
replacement percentage was chosen for this study was (10%,20%,30%,40%,50%).the replacement of RCA
in (10%,20%,30%,40%,50%). avg. density of concrete is (2616, 2436, 2361, 2215, 2168)kg/m3. The
experimental result of compressive strength o 28 days (13.46, 11.5, 9.36, 9.13, 9.11 )n/mm2. The modified
concrete mix with addition o plastic aggregate replacing conventional aggregate upto 20% gives strength
Mushtaq Ahmad, Layth Salman Khalid, Aneel Manan (2019, AJIRSET)- An extensive
experimental study has been performed by utilising the plastic waste in concrete using a cement replaced
with waste polymer polythene percentage of 10%, 20%, 30% and the polymer fibre 2% , 4% and 6%
respectively. The water cement ratio kept 0.5 . the result indicate that by utilising higher polymer content in
concrete mix will increase the slump value and workability . the higher slump value will indicate the higher
adhesiveness of the material. The slump value or unmodified is 4.9cm and the higher value 30% and 6% is
6.6 cm. The compressive strength was achieved using polymer modified concrete with 30% of polymer
content at 27.66 MPa. When the plastic waste and polymer fibre were added into the modified concrete
using 10% and 2% content .it can be noted that the tensile strength was increased 3.5 Mpa . the tensile
strength of RC concrete is 2.8 25% increment compared to unmodified concrete. The plastic waste and
polymer fibre concrete has flexural strength is 4.6 Mpa while the RC concrete has 4.7.
Based on this study it can be concluded that the utilisation of plastic waste and polymer fibre can be very
semi- bars and used it as tension bar in simply supported reinforcement concrete beam. 12 beam was
tested. The load is applied in successive increment 5 KN until reach to the failure load . the ultimate failure
load of reference beam which reinforced with steel deformed bar is 82. KN.the beam (B8P6) which yield an
ultimate load 85 KN. Using PET layer in additional to steel reinforcement in tension zone beam B8P6 ,
considerably increase the maximum deflection 27.05 mm which is increased by refence beam by 213.83%.
all presented plastic bar are showed first cracked load equal or less than that of plain concrete beam . PET
bars without enough bonding became as voids or weak region into beam.
OBJECTIVE
The main objective of this research is to use liquid plastic as reinforcement material for steel bar. The
Abundantly quantity of plastic waste generated in overpopulated developing country like India mammoth
proportion and so it call innovative idea to achieve efficient waste management . in environment is
hazardous for pollution so if we can use in construction material it will be cheap and economical .
To find the efficiency of plastic sustain in environment for a long period of time
To calculate the compressive strength, load carrying capacity, impact value test, tensile strength ,
Analysis the behaviour of this material with finite element analysis by software
METHOD OF DESIGN
The research will be conduct with 6 specimen of size 600x200x300mm. metal mould will be used of size
650x250x350 mm. the liquid plastic will be made up of PET waste we can add more fibre like clothes for
strengthening. The melting point of PET plastic is 260 degree Celsius. Reinforcement bar of 12mm, 10 mm.
