ORGANISATION, RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Teraju Offshore (m) Sdn. Bhd. has overall responsibility and fully
monitor Onshore & Offshore Works for ensuring that the health, safety and environmental
policies and target outlined are implement and achieved.
The HSE Representative/ Project Manager is responsible for providing advice, material
or equipment on matters relating to safety, health and environmental in accordance with
legislative requirement client’s and company policy. He will also be responsible health, safety
and environmental compliance of all employees and is responsible for the management of
resources that are devoted to health, safety, and environment.
The Supervisor/ Campboss will be responsible for ensuring those employees under
their supervision work in a safe manner, adhere to the controls implemented and address any
health, safety and environmental issues arising on site. They are also responsible, in
consultation with employees, for conducting equipment and other related facilities risk
assessments under their control and implementing control measures to ensure that the health
and safety of client’s personnel, employees, visitors and contractors are not compromised.
1.1.4 EMPLOYEES
All employees have a duty of care to ensure a safe working environment for
themselves and other employees. All employees are responsible for reporting any unsafe acts
or conditions to management as soon as possible and adhere to the control measures
implemented on site. Employees should actively contribute ideas, which make our workplaces
safer and more productive.
1.2.1 Recruitment
The Human Resources Section is an important function in relation to health and safety in
the workplace. Recruitment procedures shall ensure that:
During recruitment of personnel, employees are inducted and trained during the group
recruitment process.
Each employee is issued with a Teraju Offshore (m) Sdn. Bhd. ‘Employee Handbook’.
The contract of employment and ‘Employee handbook’ will be signed to confirm that
the new employee has read and understood Teraju Offshore (m) Sdn. Bhd. Health,
Safety and Environmental policy and other requirements.
Prior to commencing work all personnel will have completed the appropriate company
induction training, relevant corporate in-house trainings and all other health and safety
training requirement of the client.
Any copies of certificates of training and skill qualifications are maintained on file and
a copy forwarded to the location where the employee will be assigned.
Training needs shall be identified and training delivered to ensure that management has
the appropriate health, safety and environmental management skills. Employees shall be
trained in safe systems of work to ensure they work with proper regard for the safety, health,
and protection of themselves, others and the environment.
Training in general safety matters will be conducted both externally and internally with
the use of in-house discussions and video presentations. External courses will be completed
with accredited training providers.
It is the policy of Teraju Offshore (m) Sdn. Bhd. that all new employees complete an
induction program upon their commencement with the company. This induction process shall
consist of two parts:
Company Induction
Workplace Induction
The induction process will introduce a new employee to the company, their roles and
responsibilities, their workplace, their co-workers. The induction will provide information to new
employees to enable them to know what Teraju Offshore (m) Sdn. Bhd. expects of them and
what they expect from Teraju Offshore (m) Sdn. Bhd.
The role of the company induction is to introduce new employees to the company’s policies,
procedures, safety and health employees and expectations. A typical company induction will
include sessions on the following:

Details of the company background and management structure. The methodology used by
Teraju Offshore (m) Sdn. Bhd. to achieve the strategic vision of the company requires core

During the induction, new staff are made aware of the quality policy and the requirement
to satisfy the needs of our client at all times. It is important that staff are informed that the
quality system will assist them to provide an efficient, reliable and consistent service at all
times. This is because they can refer to detailed procedures such as work methodology and
procedures. New employees are shown the circumstances of when and how to complete an
Opportunity for Improvement Report.
