Pre-lesson: Teacher holds up the traffic light and asks pupils
what do they do if they see the traffic light.

Lesson delivery:
1. Teacher points to the traffic light and ask what each
traffic light colour means.
2. Pupils get ready with the materials to make their group
traffic lights and make it.
3. Pupils are introduced to a poem The Traffic Light.
ACTIVITIES They point to the colour and do the gestures as they read
with the teacher.
4. Pupils are explained that they are going to practise
following the traffic rules by pretending they are vehicles
driving around the classroom.
5. Each group stands at their corner and start moving
according to the directions given.

Post lesson: Pupils discuss the importance the traffic light


rules.

A few flashcards of animals are pasted on the board.
Everyone closes their eyes and open when teacher says so
after removing a picture. The group that identifies the
missing picture gets the points.

1. In pairs, pupils complete the crossword puzzle. Pupils
ACTIVITIES take turns to listen and spell.
2. Pupils refer to Year 3 Step by Step Writing Module Part 1
page 31 and 32.
3. Pupils copy and form the sentences based on the
substitution table.
4. Teacher explains paragraph to paragraph writing.

4. The value of the story is explained.
5. Pupils are explained about the story of the tunnel. Pupils
create their own prediction of what the tunnel story might
be.

1. Pupils refer to the map in page 47 Year 3 Supplementary
Worksheets Module.
2. Pupils are given a destination in the map and they must
write down the directions to go the destination by looking
at the map in page 47.
ACTIVITIES 3. Pupils complete the exercise of True/False in page 47.
4. Pupils refer to page 48 in the same module and
complete the Plural Word Search. Pupils find out the plural
forms to the stated singular nouns.
5. Pupils conduct a peer assessment with the 2 exercises.

correctly while they listen to the song.
