In recent meetings, our Worship and Music and Pastoral

Friends committees have been discussing how to make _____________________________________________
our prayer opportunities better known to the
congregation. We want to ask for your ideas how to
provide more meaningful ways to participate in prayer
for one another and our friends and family members.

Present Prayer Opportunities:

 Lighting a candle for family members and
friends

 Mentioning a friend or family member during

prayer time during the service.

 Filling out a prayer card to request special

prayer, visits, communion for a person not able
to attend services.

 Requesting that Janine place a friend or family

member on our e-mail Prayer Chain. ( Call the
church phone number 419-734-6211 or e-mail
secretary@firelandschurch.org,)*

 Requesting that Janine place the person's name

in the weekly bulletin or our monthly newsletter,
The Trumpet. (See above)*

We invite you to share your ideas:

_______ I appreciate a quiet time before the service to
pray or meditate

_______I would like prayer cards made more clearly

available:

 ______With a special box to deposit them

_______ I would like a spot where I could kneel or sit

and pray

 ________In the Sanctuary

 ________In a more private spot

(like the library)

_______ Occasionally, I would like to have the

opportunity to pray with an Elder or Pastoral Friend after
the service

______I would like to attend an occasional evening

prayer service.

______I like attending the special times for meditation.

Preschool News
November is always a fun month because it kicks off the Holiday Season. We spent the
month talking about our families, learning about Turkeys and Thanksgiving!

We made family trees and talked about what makes each of our families special. We
read books about family, made crafts and played family in the dramatic play center.

During Turkey week all of the learning centers we all about Turkeys. We did turkey
themed math and literacy activities, learned about the parts of a turkey, ready silly
books about turkeys and made lots of turkey crafts. Each child was given a turkey to
take home and disguise. Some of the disguises were princesses, a cupcake, a police
officer, a clown, a gumball machine and a book. Great job to all!!

The last two weeks were all about Thanksgiving. We talked about what it means to be
thankful and what we are thankful for; our friends were thankful for dinosaurs,
teachers, family members, friends, toys, and pilgrims just to name a few.

Thank you to all of the parents and church members that purchased items from our
fundraiser.
