Led chaser

Components:

 IC – CD4017
 IC- 555 Timer
 1 x 18KΩ Resistor (1/4 Watt)
 1 x 2.2KΩ Resistor (1/4 Watt)
 1 x 100KΩ Potentiometer
 1 x 1 µF – 50V Capacitor (Polarized)
 1 x 0.1 µF Ceramic disc Capacitor Non Polarized
 10 x 10mm LED
 Connecting Wires
 5V Power Supply
 Breadboard
Procedures:
 IC – CD4017 – Is used for low range counting applications. It can count from 0 to
10 (the decade count). The circuit designed by using this IC will save board space
and also time required to design the circuit. CD4017 is as Johnson 10 stage decade
counter.
 IC- 555 Timer – Is an integral part of electronics projects. Be it a simple project
involving a single 8 bit micro-controller and some peripherals or a complex one
involving system or chips.
 Resistor 18Ω - I a passive two terminal electrical components that implements
electrical resistance as a circuit element. In electronic, circuit resistors are used to
reduce current flow, adjust signal levels to divide voltages, bias active elements.
 Resistor 2.2 –
 Potentiometer 100kΩ - Is a three terminal resistor with a sliding or rotating contact
that forms an adjustable voltage divider. If only two terminals are used, one end
and the wiper, it acts as a variable resistor or resistant.
 Capacitor Polarized – An electrolytic capacitor is a polarized capacitor whose
anode or positive plate is made of a metal that forms an insulting oxide layer
through anodization. This oxide layer acts as the dielectric of the capacitor.
 Capacitor Non Polarized – A non polarized capacitor is a type of capacitor that has
no implicit polarity. It can be connected either way in a circuit, ceramic, mica and
some electrolytic capacitor are non-polarized. You’ll also sometimes people call
them “Bipolar” Capacitors.
 LED – stands for light emitting diode. LED lighting products produce light
approximately 90% more efficiently than incandescent light bulbs. An electrical
current passes through a microchip which illuminates the tiny light sources we call
LEDs and the result is visible light.
 Connecting wires – allows an electrical current to travel from one point on a circuit
to another, because electricity needs a medium through which to move. In the case
of computers, wires are embedded into circuit boards, carrying pulses of electricity
that are interpreted as binary signals of zeros and ones.
 5V Power Supply – are one of the most common power supplies in used today.
Linear regulated 5VDC power supplies regulate the output using a dissipative
regulating circuit. They are extremely stable, have very low ripple, and have no
switching frequencies to produce EMI.
 Breadboard – is a construction base for prototyping of electronics. Originally the
word referred to a literal bread board, a polished piece of wood used for slicing
bread.

Led lights using battery

Components:

 Push button switch

 330Ω resistor
 9V battery
 1 x 5mm LED (red)
 Jumping wires

Procedures:

1. Attached the battery clip to the top of the 9V battery.

2. Connect the red wire of the battery with 330Ω resistor then connect the
resistor to the long leg (+) of LED.
3. Connect the black wire of the battery to the other pin of the switch
4. Connect the other pin of the switch to the short (-) leg of the LED.
5. And wait for the result.
