will learn good communication skills”, got 21 votes for strongly agree; 14 for

moderately agree; 8 for agree; 2 for disagree; and none for moderately disagree

and also for strongly disagree. The majority of the result for question #5 is

be able to interact with fellow contestants and as they do, they will practice

speaking respectfully since they are carrying the school with them . While the

results of question #4 (negative), which states “The students might feel

for moderately disagree; and 6 for strongly disagree. The majority of the result for

question #4 is strongly agree, which means that a student’s performance is

affected by the thoughts of people around them.

Frequencies

(positive) which got the most vote for strongly agree. As honor students, learning

good communication skills in competing can greatly affect their studies. With this,

it teaches them how to answer their essays literately, lessens the time needed to

think of an answer during class recitations, and most importantly gives them a

high possibility of attaining or surpassing their current ranking since they are

ready to face new opportunities with confidence and open-mindedness.

Recommendations

1. To the honor students, the honor students should learn how to manage

the time they have in competing and studying. They should also have the

initiative to ask their subject teachers on what lessons have been

discussed and what activities have been missed in order to catch up.

Aside from this, they must know how to balance their emotions whenever

they lose so that it won’t be a hindrance for them in being open to new

opportunities to prove their skills and ability.

2. To the parents, the parents should support their child in every competition,

encourage, and inspire them to give their best while also keeping in mind

all the learning that they have gained throughout the past competitions.

They should not discourage their child after losing because it would only

bring disappointment on them and worsen the feeling of failure. At times

like this, parents must never forget their roles as their child’s source of

hope and motivation in not giving up.

3. To the teachers, honor students might skip lessons especially if the

competition is approaching and so, teachers should give consideration to

the honor students in terms of giving a right amount of time in taking up

the performance tasks as well as guiding them on how to cope up with the

past lessons so that they will still have concrete learning.

4. To the School Administrative, since the honor students represent the

school in every competition, they should always support the students in

terms of financial and personal aspect such as hiring the right trainers that

56
would train and teach the contestants in their chosen field, providing the

needed transportation as competitions are mostly held outside the school,

and allotting school days for preparation particularly if the competition is

very near.
