Note: Chapter numbers, names, page numbers should be aligned as shown
and table borders should not be visible.

Content pages should not be numbered. Page Numbers from 1 start from
chapter1 only.

In every chapter’s introduction part, include organization of the chapter like

This chapter is organized as follows. Section 3.2 describes the analysis of contribution of
individual texture measures for image classification using synthetic images and real image. This
analysis helps in choosing suitable combinations of texture measures for SAR classification.
Section 3.3 explains general methodology for unsupervised classification of images using PCA
based fusion of texture measures. Results and critical analysis of the proposed algorithm are
presented in section 3.4. Conclusion for the chapter is presented in section 3.5.

Total number of pages in the report can be from 25 to 40.

Abstract
Currently used methods for collecting alumni details is very time consuming as one has to manually
update the alumni profile. A web based alumni software would provide with a single repository for
entire alumni data. This modification will be updated only with proper validation of the student by
administrator. The objective of this Alumni Association portal application is to allow old and new
students of a university or college to communicate with each other. This allows students to know about
each other and their current activities, which is very vital to establish a long-term-relationship. This
system would not just be a means to explore academic memories but it will also a system that will
provide features such as listing of featured alumni, advanced search notifications, alumni notice boards
for various alumni related notifications and photo gallery.

Chapter 1

1.1.1 Motivation:
Sub subtitles of size 14 not bold
Today’s students are tomorrow’s alumni and future university supporters. In recent years a lot of
importance is given by institutions in building alumni networks worldwide, understanding the
significance of mutual benefits. One of the major challenges faced by alumni associations is tracking
alumni. Alumni Association Portal will help in solving the above-mentioned problem as it would be
the medium through the current students, the alumni outside and the institution can exchange
information and stay connected.
1.1.2 Problem Statement:

To create a Web Application for Avantika University’s Alumni Association.

1.1.3 Aim:
Every university has its own alumni association. This project focuses on the website
development for the alumni association of Avantika University. This website will cover all
the important information about the alumni association, as well as information about the
events at the university. It serves as a portal for the alumni to connect with their batch mates
and other passed out alumni. They can even read about news related to Avantika University
and also find projects and more. They can also share new trends, technology and new
business ideas for current students in the university.

1.1.4 Objectives:
1. Events - Events that take place in university such as alumni reunions, sports events and
other events that the alumni will be interested in participating or might want to join in.
2. News - News about different achievements by the university news about student
participating in different competitions or university participating in outdoor events.
3. Photo Galleries - Photo gallery of different events.
4. About the benefits of being an alumnus:
 It acts as a platform for alumni to connect with each other as it provides an alumni
directory to its members.
 It also provides an opportunity to the alumni to contribute to the university in ways like-
 Donations
 Participating in Projects
 Helps Alumni with necessary information
Chapter 2
Background Study

2.1Background Theory;

2.2 Existing Systems:

After reviewing websites for-
 Alumni Association of the University of Michigan
 Alumni Community of IIT Delhi Alumni Association
 Alumni Association of the University of Notre Dame
 Alumni Association Of UPES
2.3 Proposed Solution

2.4 Unique Selling Point

Most of the alumni website provides information about other alumni so that they can connect
with each other. This website not only provides information about other alumni but also helps
them to directly connect with them over the website. The social media aspect of this website
allows them to post what they’re up to which other alumni can read.

Chapter 4
Assumptions:
References

References should be referred in the text as author name and year of publication like
Window size has to be larger than the size of texture pattern to capture the texture
(Dell‘Acqua, 2006).

If it has two authors then,

…Discrete cosine transform (DCT) methods, Co-occurrence matrices is presented (Randen
and Husoy, 1999).
If more than two then,
Window size has to be larger than the size of texture pattern to capture the texture (Prathan
et. al., 200). Note et.al.,
If more references are to be given for a single statement then,
Researchers are using various texture measures for image classification (Liu, 2008; Song et
al., 2007; Gupta et al., 2006).
Points to note here is when you list multiple references, then order them in chronological
order as above.

Note:
References should be in alphabetical order, if same authors are there, then chronological order is
to be used. If more than four authors are there, then use et. al., with 2 author names. Use anme of
the name of the author followed by initials. Follow the exact format, names followed by comma,
title within quotes, Journal name, volume number, issue number, Year and then page number. …
