Simplifications and Extensions

Butterfly Life Cycle For a gifted child who needs enrichment, I


will allow them to create a PowerPoint of
the life cycle instead of drawing it in their
notebook.

For a child with ADHD I will allow them to


sit close to me. I will watch them closely
and make sure they are focused during
the lesson of talking about the life cycle. If
they do get sidetracked, I will make sure I
bring them back to the lesson.

For an English language learner, I will


speak clearly and directly towards the
student. I will make sure I have notecards
with pictures of the stages of the life cycle
that we are using in class.
The Wonderful Sun For a gifted child who needs enrichment, I
will allow them to have more than one part
in the play.

For a child with ADHD I will allow them to


sit close to me. I will watch them closely
and make sure they are focused during
the play. If they do get sidetracked, I will
make sure I bring them back to the
lesson.

Changing Climate For a gifted child who needs enrichment, I


will allow them to make a drawing or
model instead of the paragraph of
something causing climate change.

and make sure they are focused during
the videos. If they do get sidetracked, I will
make sure I bring them back to the
lesson.

of climate change to allow the learner to

themselves if they wish.
